United Goan Centre (UGC) on of the oldest Football Club in Kuwait Indian Football Federation, Kuwait emerge the champion of Shifa Al Jazeera Soccer Kerala Fest 2018 which organized by Soccer Kerala 7A side Football tournament in association with Kuwait Indian Football Federation (KIFF) to foster the perennial passion for football among the Indian expatriates in Kuwait. The tournament was held at Ministry of Sports and Youth Ground, Bayan on 25th February, 2018. Moreover Soccer Kerala family is deeply impressed and sincerely thanking all the supporters and sponsors who stood with the team to make the Soccer Fest awe –inspiring.
The one day tournament was organized under a Kuwait Indian Football Federation( KIFF), a committed and benevolent organization which is relentlessly contributing soccer fever among Indians even at the busiest expatriate life. All the teams superintended by the able hands of KIFF, took part in the systematic and shrewdly executed tournament. United Goans Center (UGC) ruthlessly dismantled Goa Maroons. A breathtaking save of Alfas, the reliable goal keeper of UGC, at the tie - breaker brought beaming smile on the faces of exuberant players as they sealed the tournament as champions.
The evocative tournament was sponsored by Shifa Al Jazeera Medical Center. The Winner’s trophy and Runner’s up trophy were sponsored by Kuwait Logistics and Freight Co. W.L.L and Shifa Al Jazeera Group, Kuwait respectively. Individual trophies for Winners were sponsored by Mr. Jeeves Erinjeri, Haritham Restaurant and Mr. Mansoor Grand Hyper. While individual trophies for Runners’ up were sponsored by Mr. O.K Razaq, Mr. Juan Paul and Mr. Alex Joseph. Mr. Lawrence Pinto was generous to sponsor the Fair Play award for the team All Kerala Footbal Club (AKFC). The trophy for the player of the tournament was sponsored by Mr. Jose Karmend. The best defender trophy was sponsored by Mr. Anil Kumar and the award for the top scorer was sponsored by Mr. Muhammed Shahin. Mr. K.C Abdul Razaq and Mr. Nicolas Rodriguez sponsored trophies for best goal keeper and the best goal of the tournament respectively. Man was the match trophy was sponsored by Gold Park Jewellery. The individual trophy for the best midfielder was sponsored by Mr. Bishara Mustafa.
Mr. Derrick Gomindes, the President of KIFF and Mr. Soby Cheppala, an executive member of Soccer Kerala, gave away the Winner’s trophy sponsored by Kuwait Logistics and Freight Co. and Mr. Razwan, General Manager of Shifa Al Jazeera presented the Runners up trophy sponsored by Shifa Al Jazeera Group, Kuwait.
Soccer Kerala Family honored with beautiful mementos to Mr. Derick Gomendis, President, KIFF for remarkable character in animating in Kuwait Indian Football Federation, Mr. Austine Abreo, President, Providence Group a charitable organization for his charity works to the needy people specially orphanage children’s in India and generous contribution towards Kuwait Indian Football Federation, Mr. Badarul Muneer Basmalah the man who has been functioning vibrantly as on of the solid pillars of Soccer Kerala for the last four years, Mr. Majeed highly honored to have one of the Founder member for his notable dedication towards the Soccer Kerala Family, Mr. Haneefa Pokkakillath one of the founder member and back bone of the Soccer Kerala Family, Mr. Rajeev Nair for his unconditional support towards the team, Mr. SobyXavier Cheppala for his excellent work in unifying the players in Soccer Kerala Family and outstanding performance in Masters League one of the prestigious League which is organized by Kerala Exparts Football Association Kuwait,
