NAFO’s Career Guidance Program & Young Leader’s Conclave – ‘Jyotirgama a huge success

Jyotirgama – 2018, the comprehensive career /higher education guidance program and young leader’s conclave, as planned and organized by NAFO Kuwait, was a huge success. This program supported by Salmiya Indian Model School (SIMS), was opened for students of 9 – 12 standards of all schools in Kuwait, was conducted as multi sessions held on 04th and 05th May, at SIMS. This two day program was inaugurated by Mrs Asha Fenn Thomas, renowned career guru flown in to Kuwait along with prominent career and training experts Shravan Shetty and Diwakar Basnet.

Through his welcome address NAFO General Secretary Anish Nair sketched out the objectives of this mission dedicated to the younger generation of India. Each of the sessions of this program was respectively steered by renowned career and higher education guides and corporate consultants, Asha Fenn Thomas, Shravan Shetty and Diwakar Basnet. A total of 200 plus attendees, including students studying in eighteen Indian Schools in Kuwait, and their parents, benefitted from this program. The huge responses, creative interactions and the intense Q&A sessions made the program beneficial and remarkable. More than 100 questions, regarding career and higher education, were raised by students and parents either during the sessions or through NAFO portal and these questions were genuinely responded by the faculties’ which the students and parents productively enjoyed. All sessions started with very informative power point presentations, which was followed by Q&A sessions. The presentation covered wide range of areas, such as availability and variety of higher educational courses across a span of subjects in various Universities and colleges in India and abroad, opportunities about rider courses, the deadline for applying to various courses, detailed information regarding admission procedures and tuition fees on fresh courses, calendars of entrance examinations to professional courses, etc. Separate exclusive counselling sessions for limited number of students and parents were also provided. Both students and their parents were enthralled and abundantly benefitted by the quality and quantity of high-class guidance and counselling methods. Several parents highly commented about NAFO’s dedication and commitment for conducting and supporting Indian students with such kinds of valuable educational service oriented programs.

Young Leader’s Conclave was a big hit held on the afternoon of 04th and whole day on 05th May, attended by students from all leading Indian Schools in Kuwait, which is aimed to calibrate and honor the Change Agents of tomorrow and to create an awareness in the young community that they are the major stakeholder in the society in terms of positive change. Conclave also addressed the objectives, to enhance, promote and empower them to show the world that change needs to be churned at the grass root level, so as to create a platform for the young to exhibit their hidden and inner potential to the world.

During the final wind-up session trainers urged and appealed to the Indian students in Kuwait that they are highly talented and should continue focus on achieving their dream career through constant hard work, commitment and dedication. They thanked NAFO Kuwait for providing them the opportunity to visit Kuwait and facilitating to fruitfully interact with Indian students in Kuwait. NAFO President O.N. Nandakumar, along with other NAFO officials thanked children and their parents for their positive response, for attending both the sessions and for their creative interactions. This whole mega guidance program was professionally coordinated by a dedicated team comprising NAFO office bearers, Executive Committee members, Ladies’ Wing members & General committee members. Organizers thanked the Management of SIMS, Principals of various Indian Schools and also all valued sponsors supported NAFO in executing the event of its kind ended up as huge success adding one more jewel in the crown of NAFO.
