Corruption charges in hiring Indian nurses sent for legal investigations

Health Minister Sheikh Dr Basel Al-Sabah has referred alleged violations and corruption in the appointment of Indian nurses in the ministry of Health to the public prosecution for legal investigations.

Parliamentarian MP Rakan Al-Nasef, on his Twitter, posted that he had sent a question to the health minister about the suspected violations involving the appointment and the minister told him that the case has been referred to the public prosecution.

The lawmaker claimed, during the grilling of a former health minister, that hundreds of nurses were appointed in the ministry after paying large amounts of bribes to senior ministry officials and middlemen.

Earlier it was reported that around 80 nurses recruited from India have been stuck here for more than two years due to paperwork and red tape. Recently these nurses met External Affairs Minister Smt Sushma Swaraj during her recent visit to Kuwait and minister had taken up the issue with Kuwaiti authorities.

The group of nurses from India are living in government housing, but are unable to work because their certifications and licensing have been held up. They alleged the corruption involved in the recruitment process for this state of affairs.

In April 2015, the Indian government banned the recruitment of nurses through private agencies in a bid to stop massive corruption. Working with the Kuwait government, it established six approved agencies that could recruit nurses for Kuwait.

Indian nurses, but these nurse''s call themselves Malayali nurses as they come only from one state of India, couple of lakhs is paid by them to enter Q8. Still no job''s ... It''s kinda Sad. They gotta work for couple of year''s only to repay loan''s taken by them to enter q8. The only 100 % literate State in India Is getting literally fooled. IMAGINE WHAT WILL BE THE CONDITION OF OTHER WORKER''S.
Fraud and Greed is everywhere.

Live and let live....I personally know person who paid money to get the nurse job. From zero financial background. Took him many times for ministry procedures in my car.... now he got sudden money and new car and mocking said once of my "old scrap" car..... I ignore as I know nobody will take nothing with them when we go from this world.... so my.. live and let live policy. Happy for them all ..

Even in the new system corruption can occur. The Health Ministry should be vigilant against it and take Nurses who are really qualified with experience.

Nurses stranded is a very old story. This happened a long time ago. Nothing was done then and nothing is going to happen now.

Re-verify the private college certificate of nurses for the same going with engineers - whether they have the National Bureau of Accreditation method. If not kick them out.

Good news.... they deserved to be in jail for those accountable.... i hope also those nurses paying thousands of KD just to be in Ministry.... they are the one who made this country KHARAB... now every where you go you need to pay.... many of them are not qualified and they was hired just because of paying KD.... the case and punishment of the one who pay and the one received the payment is the same.... GOD IS FAIR!!!!!! Lesson lerned “NOT ALL THINGS IN LIFE HAS NEED TO BE SHORTCUT” make effort and wait until you will received what you deserve God’s will....!
