SIF-Kuwait successfully conducted Fourth Kuwait Children’s Science Congress

The 4th Kuwait Children’s Science Congress (KCSC), organized by Science International Forum (SIF)

Kuwait in association with Unimoni Exchange was successfully conducted on 23rd November, 2018. Dr.Shantha Maria James (Principal, Indian Central School), Mr.Renjith Pillai (Marketing Head, Unimoni) and the judges panel along with Sri. Prasanth Nair (President, SIF Kuwait) inaugurated the event by lighting traditional lamp.

Dr.Shantha Maria James was honoured by SIF Kuwait for her contribution in the field of education over years.

The judges panel included senior scientists from Kuwait Institute of Scientific Research Dr. S Neelamani, Dr.Narayana Bhat, Dr. Mohan Rana, Dr. Jayasree, Dr. S Chidambaram, Dr. Jafarali Parol and Dr. Rakesh Madhusoodhanan. 46 teams of young scientists from major Indian schools in Kuwait participated in two categories.

Two member students team showcased their inventive and unique scientific projects to the large crowd of parents, teachers and well-wishers. Prizes for the winners of science writing competition IGNITE 2018 were given at the function.

Two teams from Indian English Academy School (DONBOSCO) and Indian Educational School

(Bhavans Kuwait) in the senior category and two teams from Indian Learners Own Academy and Smart Indian School in junior category got qualified for the National Children’s Science Congress. 4 teams from Indian English Academy School (DONBOSCO), Indian Educational School (Bhavans Kuwait) and Indian Community School Senior branch secured A grade in both the categories.

Three Spot Competitions conducted was well accepted by the community with massive participation of over 300 in different categories. Results are published on Facebook page of SIF Kuwait. Two parallel sessions by Mrs. Bhumi Shah and Mr. B. Muthukumaran was well accepted by the audience.

The general feedback on KCSC 2018 projects from the Judges was positive. Qualified teams would

represent Kuwait in the 26th National Children’s Science Congress 2018 scheduled to be held from 27th to 31st December, 2018 at Bhubaneswar, Odisha. KCSC is organized along with the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India to spread the concept and method of science among children by adopting the principle of learning through doing.
