Award winning choreographer Kala Master opens Kala

South India's leading choreographer and national award winner Kala Master opens Kala's Kalalaya - dance school in Kuwait in a glittering function held at Fintas.

Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Kuwait was the Chief Guest of the ceremony. In his speech in Tamil, Sri Lankan Ambassador appreciated Kala Master for her valuable contributions for the dance and making the Tamilians all over the world proud. The crowd welcomed him with a standing ovation after he concluded his speech in Tamil. Indian Central Scholl Principal Smt Shanta Marium James, Smt Anati Natarajan, Mrs Sabura Hameed were present during the launch ceremony. Earlier Mr Hameed welcomed the audience and introduced Kala's Kalalaya.

Kala Master entered the film world at the age of 12. She has choreographed over 3600 songs in various languages including Tamil,. Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, Kannada, Oriya, Bengali, English, Italian and Japanese. She has worked with directors like. K. Blachander, Maniratnam, K. S. Ravikumar, Priyadarashan, Fazil, Kamal Hasan and the filmography contains names like 'Roja', 'pudhu pudhu arththangkal', 'vanamee yellai', 'virsaat' , 'pranaya varnangkal' , 'chandramukhi', 'paasak kiligal', etc.

In Kala's Kalalaya professional choreography training will be given to students in all varieties of dance such as western, classical, bhangra and Indian folk.
