1m expats have driving licenses but no vehicles

Recent statistics showed that 616,000 vehicles are registered under expats’ names, while those registered to citizens are 1.39 million.

According to report, this does not reflect the proportion of Kuwait’s population, which is 3.31 million expats out of a total of 4.715 million.

Further, statistics showed 1.664 million expats hold driving licenses, compared to 616,000 vehicles registered to expats, which means that over a million expats with driving licenses do not own their own vehicles.

Whats the confusion?. Sounds completely logical. There is a law preventing 1 million low income expat drivers from purchasing and owning an old cheap car. The Mroor does not allow the 1 million old cars from occupying the roads!! Great job!!

In the future there will be only 1 million expat drivers without cars and 10 million Kuwtis with 30 million cars. All the best in this scenario.
This place will be like Turky.
Hasta luego!

Hopefully this data analysis should not suggest that every DL holder must have a personal vehicle even when he gets an office car.

Expat drivers and taxi drivers may not own a car but they driver their master''s ''n'' number of cars. Wives may not own car but drive second car registered under spouse''s name. Article shows half the truth and lack of enough research.

1.39 million citizens will need atleast 600,000 domestic drivers...so the remaining 400,000 drivers work as drivers in the Govt. and Pvt. sector
