The Ministry of Interior will organize intensive campaigns against beggars during the month of Ramadan.

Local daily reported that some of the beggars who had been arrested earlier have admitted to making large sums of money by begging for alms during the month of Ramadan some of them have even admitted to making approximately 3,000 dinars.

Sources said that the Ministry is determined to put an end to the begging phenomenon once and for all and said those caught begging will be immediately deported from the country and strict action will be taken against the sponsors.

The ministry has called on citizens and expatriates not to encourage beggars.
