Hues of Kindergarten - Colour week at Kindergarten

“Your attitude is like a box of crayons that colour your world. Try adding some bright colours to the picture by including humour, and your picture begins to lighten up” -says Allen Klein.

Children relate everything that they see with colours. A very important part of learning during Kindergarten years is identification and recognition of colours. The kindergarteners of IES and JACK AND JILL celebrated an entire week brightened with colours as colours enliven the surroundings. The colour week titled ‘Fun Days with colours’ started off brilliantly with red on 14th April followed by yellow, blue, green and orange respectively. The bulletin boards were decorated based on the colour of each day and it was indeed fun filled days, where the lovely kids were engaged in different activities pertaining to the colours.

The Teachers and children attired in attractive dresses, signifying the colour of the day, added charm to the celebration. They also spoke about colours and sang rhymes too. All these activities left an indelible impression in the minds of the children. KG2 students showed their enthusiasm to mix paints to get secondary colours. The children took to their home the creative art work done in the classes like the collage, cotton swabbing, pulses pasting, thumb impression, pasting the sequins and coloring. Photos of the excited children were clicked with the decorated bulletin boards as the backdrop and for sure these wonderful moments captured will be cherished forever.
