Kala(Art) Kuwait “Keraleeyam 2019- Inaugurated by Dr. Mustafa Al-Mousawi

Kala(Art) Kuwait, a leading Progressive Art and Socio Cultural Organization among the Indian Community in Kuwait conducted its variety entertainment program titled as “Keraleeyam 2019” on Friday, 3rd May 2019 at Oxford Pakistani English School, Abbasia. The function was officially inaugurated by Dr. Mustafa Al-Mousawi, President, Kuwait Kidney Transplantation Society and in his inaugural speech Dr. Mustafa Al-Mousawi appreciates the efforts behind conducting such an event of unity.



The program was scheduled with an event of presenting “Kala (Art) Kuwait-Sambasivan Award 2018” to the renowned humanitarian activist Rev. Father Davis Chiramel, popularly known as Kidney Priest, for his outstanding contribution to in the arena of Charity and public-spirited activities. The prestigious award and memento was presented to Father Davis Chiramel by Dr. Mustafa Al-Mousawi in presence of the eminent personalities from various organizations, sponsors and enthusiastic audience. The award comprises Rs 50,000 and citation. Dr. Ameer and Mr. Samkutty Thomas were felicitated the function.



This award was instituted in memory of eminent 'kadha prasangam' artist late Prof. V. Sambasivan. Fr. Davis Chiramel has been singularly responsible for half a million people in India pledging their kidneys for donation post-mortem. And, moving a step ahead of his priestly duties to the laity, he has walked the talk by setting an example for universal brotherhood and compassion by donating his kidney to a man of the Hindu faith. He chairs the Kidney Federation of India, and serves as the general secretary of Accident Care and Transport Service (ACTS).



The program continued by an awareness seminar of organ donation and Fr. Davis spoke himself in detail. The seminar excelled by answering the questions of audience. Dr. Mustafa al-Mozawi conveyed the initiatives of Kuwait's awareness programs.



Mr. Mukesh V. P, President of Kala (Art) Kuwait chaired the meeting. Mr. P. K. Sivakumar, General Secretary done welcome speech and Mr. Rakesh P. D., General Convener presented the detailed reports about Keraleeyam. Kala (Art) Kuwait Media Secretary Mr. Jaison Joseph delivered vote of thanks.
