Move to streamline delivery services business

The interior ministry has asked the ministry of commerce and industry to stop issuing licenses for delivery services. Local media Al-Qabas daily reported that interior ministry is the authority responsible for giving the final approval to issue such licenses.

The report added that the delivery market has become chaotic and needs new regulations to organize it, as it is expanding rapidly, particularly the delivery of food and other consumer goods. The sources said the commerce ministry will not reject any application to establish a new delivery company in principle, but the completion of procedures needs approval by the interior ministry.

Dept should implement rules of driving for below 175 CC bikes. Driving lanes and only certain roads. If you stop bike delivery they will start again car delivery, an another increase in traffic.

I would appreciate Ministry of Interiors if they apply new rules & regulations on riding a motorcycle on highways like Road No. 25, 30,40,50,60,80, 5th and 6th ring road as well. It''s very dangerous to ride on these roads. I recently encountered with one of the delivery drivers he is getting merely 150 kd p.m. for a 12 hrs shift a day. I mean how can they pay such a less amount of money, to one who are risking their lives and are ready to work in all the weather year around. They should seriously take some action against these delivery companies and do good for the riders.

In my opinion it would very good if authorities do not allow the delivery men to venture into any highways. They can deliver within the locality. It is really pathetic to see those young men driving dangerously to earn a living and feed their families. God bless those poor soul.

Recently I wud have knocked out a delivery guy, who barged into my lane from the middle lane without checking his left side and seeing my car at high speed he panicked and stopped his bike. Driving 100cc bikes on major roads is always risky considering the speed limits. Drivers shud be trained to not change their minds suddenly while driving and risk their life, just to save couple of minutes.
