Keep it clean – On the outside

Washing your car regularly can help protect the paintwork form damage. Regular cleaning also gives you the chance to spot potential problems early. Keep the windscreen washer bottle topped up with water and special windscreen cleaning liquid. This will help keep the front and rear windscreens free of dirt, flies and dust.
There are many types of wheels and various cleaners designed for each. An all-purpose wheel cleaner may do the job, especially if you use scouring pads and tar remover where appropriate. Tires are your final task: A good wash and a coat of gloss make the sidewalls look better than new.
Keep it clean – on the Inside
Inside the car, mats will last longer if they are regular vacuumed, and you may be able to use superglue to fix small problems with the fascia – such as a loose panels – before they become more serious and need the attention of a motor mechanic .
Also leather upholstery which is a standard fitment on premium and luxury cars requires special maintenance. Wet leather tends to catch fungus and may result in bad odour and eventually damage to the upholstery. Vacuuming upholstery weekly is a basic for and surface leather or fabric. Fabric seat covers should be washed bi-weekly.
Many people use car perfumes, which lend the interior a very cozy feel. Also avoid smoking inside the car.
There are variety of waxes and polishes virtually for every component of the car. Polishing the car once in two to three months is a nice idea. For car fitted with alloy wheels an all purpose cleaner should be used to clean the wheels after a wash.
