It depends on Car Trim. Prado offers four trims: EXR for essentials, GXR for balance, VXR for luxury, and Limited for ultimate indulgence. Choose based on your needs and budget. If you are living with your family and experiencing daily inconveniences such as dropping your kids at school and your wife at her workplace, purchasing the Toyota Prado 2016 at 6000KD is a worthwhile investment. It provides convenience for family outings, including picnics. I am saying this from my personal experience. Ask the owner for detailed service records to verify the maintenance history of the car. Toyota technicians may have specific expertise regarding Toyota vehicles and may identify any issues that were not detected during the previous inspection. Evaluate your daily transportation needs and how owning a car like the Toyota Prado would improve your lifestyle. Consider not only the initial purchase price but also ongoing expenses such as insurance, maintenance, fuel, and registration fees. If the inconvenience of not having a car outweighs the cost savings of alternatives (public transportation), then purchasing the Toyota Prado may be justified.

Thank you so much, sir, for your response. I should have already mentioned that I currently have a Toyota Yaris 2019, and for a family of 3 (including my 2-year-old daughter), my current car is satisfying all our transportation needs. It just happens that I am passively looking to upgrade from my current car, and I was offered this car by a friend. Anyway, i am still exploring this option and have resorted to getting some guidance from the IIK visitors before making the final decision.

Dear first assess your job security index. You already have 5 years old Yaris which is providing you good service.
Buying another car >> expenses increase
Selling old car >> less yield (you may get 2000 KD price)
So practically you are spending 4300 KD from your pocket. Use this money for some other purpose e.g. buying gold, mutual fund etc. Remember the thumb rule. If your existing car is costing you more in maintenance then only buy new car.
Choice is yours....

I don’t think one should spent 6300 Kwd for a used car of 8 years. It is such an over valued piece. Instead I suggest you to buy American or Chinese brand new car for that price. Also consider that governments across the world is coming up with measures to curb pollution. So, the life of the car is going to be restricted to certain number of years only in future. It could be 10 or 12 or 15. So, I strongly advise not to spent money to buy such expensive used Toyotas. Especially as you are using a Yaris, I suggest you to look at mid size suvs of ford or cherry or Chevrolet or sangyang or Haval. Those are all good and value for money. With Toyota, people claim to say they get resale value but what they don’t understand is that they pay extra money upfront which is called resale value. That extra payment is will do rounds with the second tor third owner.. ????

I agree with you that Chinese cars are good. I am using American car SUV which is purchased brand new and now 8+ yo. I go warranty for 8 years ( 5 years when I bought + another 3 years extended). I have noticed that there are lot of warranty repairs and many parts were replaced free of cost. I came into a conclusion that, as long as good and transparent services are provided it is always good to go for the cheapest car which gives you value for money. American cars are not entirely cheap compared to chinese but they offer value for money compared Toyotas. People often foolishly says, they get re sale value, but they don''t realize that they are paying that money in advance to get that money back after n number of year. Avoid such high priced, low value products.

Toyotas are way overpriced, 6300kd for a 8 year old used car is illogical. You are wasting all that extra money in the name of resale! Try to go for a new sub compact SUV which are correctly priced and value for money. Even if you dont get high resale, you still will lose less than the money you pay upfront now for an used Toyota.

I agree with MN. peoples are fools who claims Toyota is good, reliable and having good resale value. I used Toyota, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Daihatsu, Jeep, Ford, and Finally went to VW. I ever says the American and European SUV''s are the best ever I used. I only suggest Toyota for its availability of aftermarket low quality spare parts. But if you go for American and EU You never get low quality spare parts all are available its genuine either from service center of after market brands.. These brands of SUV''s offers good driving comfort, high safety functions, heavy bodies, durable parts etc..and available 2nd hand on market with reasonable values.

@habib Any reason why you didn''''t try other Japanese cars like Nissan or Honda, or South Korean cars (Kia, Hyundai)? Do you have a negative opinion of them or are you planning to try them next? Are they also overpriced compared to European and American cars?

@JAJ I dont know how is KiA, Nissan, Honda etc.. But In my opinion all Japanese specs are same as Toyota. Guess KIA is something better than Japanese brands. Anyway in my personal experience In Kuwait I ever suggest American/European brands while in India I will go for high mileage cars like Suzuki, Toyota, Nissan etc..its because of fuel price.

whoever you are who posted this without real name... It is upto you to decide what to take and what not. So there was no need to ask for other''s opinion on this platform. Here you will find lot of people who will just give you GYAAN whereas they might be travelling with KPTC buses.
Also comment posted by " helping the needy" - buying car is never an investment. It is just convenience and luxury for yourself.

@JAJ Whatever I said is my personal opinion. You can ask some more data''s from other specialist in these field. However American and European brands will cost you in spare parts and mechanics comparing Japanese But in other side you will like those brands better than Japanese. There is Plus and minus points on both sects. So better ask to more experts in this field.
