Can you inform to which state in India, does that Manager belong to, to add more spice and flavor to the story?

Hi Joseph,
You have wasted enough time and energy to come up with such a beautiful story specifying time and dates and also the place from where you and your manager originates. Anyways we know that this is a masala topic and by posting in IIK what are you looking for ?? Some expert comments and suggestions ?? And then what will you do ??

Hello Joseph. You are an engineer, not a slave. who forced you to stay in the company? if you have talent, then you will get job anywhere.. if u are not happy with your job, just leave that job and find new one!!

My deep sympathy with you. Raised middle finger for those making fun of your issue. Do action collectively. Come in time and leave in time. If one or two resist they will take action. If all, then they cannot. If the work stopped or delayed it goes to higher level. Then they try to compensate your extra work in form of pay or leaves. There are many consulting companies in kuwait like EBLA, AIMS. Drop your resume there. For sure you will get better offer.

Dear Joseph,
As a person who has undergone a similar experience I very much agree with what you said. I escaped at my very first opportunity after suffering for around a year. These kind of people do not want to accept that people have a family and personal life after work. I would suggest you all together should sit and speak to your manager in a really calm atmosphere and tell him that you (all) will not work after office hours unless it is really urgent and start to leave after office hours. You should make him realise that you guys have a home and a family waiting for you back at home.
Pray that he would realise and make your lives better.

If one Manager can torture 10 engineers and 15+D'man, he should be intensely talented and you people are worth not even a fils. Just obey him and do whatever he wants. If he can torture you all continuously for more than an year and moreover, still continuing means he had succeeded in milking you out till the last drop. You worthless people deserve more than this. He must now increase the working hours to 9 pm daily. Reduce staff one by one so that others can handle that work too. He should start firing the most intelligent (but will be difficult to find an intelligent one from your group) one first. So that others keep on working. By the way did you bunch of fools capable to produce anything so far. I doubt nothing possible. how come that Manager still managing his Clients? He must have support from some other sources, for sure.

Sasikala smells like she is the manager of the same company with name changed! Your manager will see your topic and he will start planning big.. LOL.. You will not get any good advise from here. Better you guys get together and handover your resign all at once..He will not accept it if your work status is so important if your 1/100 then he will accept.. Try your luck. Don't sit like a slave. I faced same situation after joining new company, but guess what buddy i left that company within 2 months.. So instead of asking advise here you should act.. Good luck..

I also smell that this is masala topic for few of the reasons:
1. You say that ur working since and year but then in continuation u say he is doing this torture since 1.5 years.. so how come additional 6 months he was able to trouble u? Please correct ur figures.
2. What legal suggestion ur asking? as if ur going to follow that. Jst go say him u cannot with all ur colleagues. if u dont wana continue then leave the job if u want to then deal with it which i doubt is actually happening.

Dear Joseph, If you people are ready to take risk and success in your life, try to find a sponsor to start a new company here with your colleagues and enjoy. If you have the qualifications, talent and the ability to do the business GO AHEAD...... All the Best.

Dear Joseph Vton
Such exploitation is common in most workplaces. You can resort to legal measure only when you have secured another employment opportunity.
Keep a written record of days and hours worked on weekends and public holidays. Send those records to your manager by email seeking over-time remuneration as per KLL.
if you are intimidated by your manager for termination, then you have already secured another opportunity and you can avail termination benefit along with Overtime dues by labor court intervention.
You have to produce sufficient records of your attendance for regular and overtime work hours, an established communication proof to show you have politely, amicably and professionally tried to settle your grievances within company policy.
Do not be naive to complain, whine, crib, foul mouth any company colleague or policy or reputation, these can be taken as misdemeanor. take most of the orders and communications in writing and if your colleagues are unwilling then para-phrase orders and email them for records.
Sometimes a written communication acts as deterrent for the opressor.
