The pertinent question is why do you need complex or similar water filters when RO water is doing you more harm than good.

Hello Hiho,
what other choice do you have? This question was raised many times but nobody has proper answer. Even the water you get from govt supply is treated by RO (sea water), so its all there from the beginning.
How do you take care of a dirt and other accumulated unwanted stuffs in OH tank if you use simple filter?
Coolpex, I too face the problem as the quality of customer service has come down of late. I have problem with less force and have been pursuing the matter for more than 4 months, not solved yet. Thinking of switching to Kent

Dear SN - I fully agree with you.. I'm also in your situation and thinking what to do.
To switch other company (KENT) or to use water bottles (Aqua fina/gulf, etc.) or to use normal filter.
I was using normal filter for 5 years - No issues.. I decided to change because of thinking about the uncleaned OH tank.
Then I was using water bottles for short period and I decided to change because of storage of water bottles at hot temperature, plastic reaction, etc.
Then I was using coolpex for more than 5 years - No issues. But, now thinking to change because of their poor customer care/service.

Water bottles for drinking purpose at home is not recommended. You can use during transport or for temporary basis in parties, outdoors, etc. The problem with water bottles are the poor storage by the agent/shop at high/humid temperatures. There is a chance for plastic reactions or whatever.. I'm not an expert.
RO.. I think it is better than normal filters. Have you tasted and found any difference. RO is sweet to drink and tempts to drink more than the normal filter. And they are doing some cleaning, changing/replacing, maintaining their system.

@S N- The solution is easy and has been posted many times but some people don't want to listen. Use normal filters which removes accumulated dirt, sediments.
Kuwait's desalination plants mainly uses multi-stage flash distillation (MSF) and very small quantity is produced by reverse osmosis (RO). The difference is that minerals are added to the water in desalination plants which is not the case with Coolplex etc.
People tend to use RO water after falling in for a misleading demonstration (usually by use of electric precipitator) which shows dark sludge in tap water. Its a sham but it you believe it, its your problem.

I installed Kent water system on installment basis due to the reason that as long as the money is with me the customer care would listen to me, respond and change the filters at fixed intervals. Once all installments are paid, Kent is no more interested. When the filter change time comes, I have to call them repeatedly to remind them. When any installment was due Kent used to call me in advance. Now its vice- versa.
I fell for Kent system after reading the Coolpex customer reviews but I find no difference in customer service. I used to buy water bottles for few years which broke my back due to lifting of water boxes. I have no other option but to continue with Kent. Few month before a coolpex man approached me with exchange offer to which I politely declined.
Another disadvantage of any water filter system is that over the period of time the TDS value changes which you will know when the technician checks. Of course you too can check it at home and for that you have to buy the TDS meter. So unknowingly you drink water with unspecified TDS assuming that all the water coming out of filter is 100% safe.

more than half of the people who has commented here must be drinking gutter water and roadsiee tap water but once they reach Kuwait they want to wash their A** also with mineral water.

I have installed two filters for my washing machine and within one week the first filter looks like black carbon and 2nd filter within a month.
Is it Protein?

The best solution is to use ceramic filter.
I used to have coolpex but since the water was so acidic I decided to stop using it.
The water from the ceramic filter is boiled and used for kids. I use it directly from the filter. There is no problem at all since years.
RO water will kill you ultimately.

Dear Hiho - I agree with you. But, RO filter companies just like that can not fool people by showing dark sludge in tap water. People and many companies using the RO filters are not fools to believe and accepts the demonstrations. If you did not believe.. it is your problem.
Dear Waterman - You are practical. Good to read and think.
Dear Paniwala - You or your father/grand father are also from the same gutter water and road side tap. Don't try to discriminate. We all are from the low/middle class only. Now, we or our family might have financially improved and it is not necessary to go back and drink the gutter water or road side tap water. Those waters were free when you are financially weak. You use to drink whatever and so you closed your mouth and A**. Now, we are paying for the drinking water and we have all the rights to question.
