parents visa
Dear Ali. Thanks for the update. I have few questions as below, kindly answer.
1. For parents visit visa: Are they issuing visit visa for parents aged 70 years? What is the cut off date and year beyond which jawazat will not issue visit visa? e.g. do parents born on 01 Jan 1950 and later or parents born before 01 Jan 1950 qualify to get visit visa??
2. Copy of birth certificate (Arabic translation): Whose birth certificate is required? If parents birth certificate, I doubt as most of the parents have no birth certificate by now. What to do in this situation?

1.I don't understand the logic of confirming the parents name by birth certificate when it is clearly mentioned in sponsor's passport,
2.If the sponsor's birth certificate is not available what is alternative solution?
3.What is the procedure to avail birth certificate who born in a remote village before 40 yrs when there was no proper birth registration system and migrated to city,
Can any one advise pls?

Ali, I want to bring my Mother-in-Law and Father-in-Law for a month. I went today morning to MOFA (Shuwaikh, no more handled in City) and they told me that I need to bring my Wife's Original Birth Certificate (not in English). My question is, if I translate it here in Kuwait, do I need to attest the translated Certificate? if yes, can I do this in Kuwait or I need to send to Mumbai for attestation? just like degree certificates..

Ali, I went again today to get clear information from MOFA. They told me I need to get the Birth Certificate attested from Kuwait Embassy in India, just like the way we do our degree certificate attestation. They dont respect any affidavit/attestation from Indian embassy in Kuwait anymore. This is a long process in India...

Yes they need birth certificate, even if you have a valid passport, because they dont know if you are born or not, and their embassy in India should attest it because they are tracking how many people are born in India

What is the value of Indian Embassy in Kuwait....
Our Embassy must look into this issue and resolve it.
For family visit and dependent it is ok, for parent and in law visa it is not only difficult but impossible...
All the best guys...

I asked the Kuwaiti in the MOFA counter, the parents name are there in the passport then why are you asking for Birth Certificate, the answer is I can't put MOFA stamp/seal in the passport. Ok, thats why I have the relationship affidavit for my embassy.
Well MOFA dont respect this affidavit anymore. And I'm sure Indian embassy in Kuwait has no clue about this, if they know then they would have told me this Affidavit (7KD) is useless.
You know, nationals like Egyptians don't have to go through this procedure, they can directly get visit visa for wife/parents. This discrimination is for selected nationalities. Because we Indians are crooks according to them. Our embassy/PM should do more than conducting Yoga classes.

Hi Ali, Thanks for the above post. It was very useful. I am planning to get my parents and in-laws from India for short trip to Kuwait. I have already got my birth certificate translated. Today i went to MOFA (Shuwaikh), they are asking me to get mine and my wife's birth certificates attested from India and Kuwait embassy in India. The same problem which Mr. Karuna Karan mentioned in above post. I am really confused now. Should i get it attested from Indian embassy and ministry of justice in Kuwait? will it work? Bcos getting it attested from India will take lot of time. Mr. Karuna Karan did you attested your copy from Indian embassy in Kuwait? if yes then did MOFA accepted your certificate.

In their passport pages (copies off which I have here with me) name of my wife (their mother) & mine is there. What is the process pls ? You could advise me on this matter "one to one" if you care to .... mail me at [email protected]. ASAP plsssssss......... i want to bring them all here before Christmas.

Thanks Ali for your quick response. Just a doubt Is it necessary to get Home Ministry of State, MEA (India) & Kuwait Embassy (in India) attestation done before getting the Birth Certificate of my children here for further processing -- translation & MoFA attestation. Or can I go with their passport copies & Birth Certificate issued by Municipal Corp, direct to Jawahazzat with the visa applic form ?
Again let me remind you that my marriage certificate has all the requisite stamps & is already translated to Arabic also. The doubt is ONLY regarding children's birth certificates.
thnx & rgds

I had gone to the Liberation Tower MOFA office yesterday. I was asked to go to the MOFA shuwaikh during morning hours. On going to MOFA the counter did not accept the affidavit. I had affidavit made for my my sister-in-law (wife's sister) and her family for them to come to short visit. The person at counter asked me to get following originals 1. My wife's birth certificate 2. Sister-in-law's birth certificate 3. Sister-in-law's marriage certificate 4.Sister-in-law's son's birth certificate It is so crazy to listen to such absurdity from them. I understand from the way it is going I think relatives are not welcome. It was sad to see people being returned who wanted to get their parents, kids etc for want of originals. The worst part is that the Indian Embassy is not informing us or helping us with these issues. The funny part is some people have been able to get their relationship affidavit stamped too. So sometimes it will depend on your luck too as to who is at the counter. If these kind of big changes happen there should be a notice in front of the Indian Embassy advising us accordingly.
