Cycle to Work
posted by Cyclist on Thursday, January 5, 2017
As part of a healthier lifestyle and as long as one avoids the major motorways (30 & 40), is cycling to work allowed from Abu Halifa/Fintas/Mangaf/Fahaheel to Ahmadi? There are many route options possible and one way distance is less than 20 km.

While your thought is good, its extremely dangerous. Roads 30 & 40 are out of bound for cyclists but you can reach Ahmadi without using them. If your life is dear, better avoid it but if it isn't, you will be putting some vehicle driver in distress by going under it.

Ur post shows that you read some news and also around the world for e.g. in Japan and Switzerland and all where people go to work in their cycles.
Just because something is implemented somewhere does not mean it can be applied elsewhere.
Agree that in Kuwait we can use cycle. but as Driver said it is very dangerous and moreover the extreme climate in Kuwait. Think of cycling in 50 degress summer a office guy cycling to office ?? self imagine what will be his fate leave about 20 kms even if 5 kms ?? he will wear out and not even able to reach office. and even if you reach what will be his condition. So it is not about road only. In winter freezing morning climate of 3 or 4 degress with wind blowing you think you can cycle for at least 1 km when people cannot wait to get in to their car from their flat within 2 mnts. Be practical....
