Ah ha so you want to show off that you are a big man and live in Gulf. It will be cumbersome to export and re- export the car. What you can do is to carry the no. plates and fix it to the Indian car and show off to your relatives, friends and relatives.

The Carnet de Passage (also called triptych) can be obtained from the Kuwait Auto Club (same place you need to go to get the international driver's license). There are two types of insurance you'll need to obtain - one is the shipping insurance (which your freight company can handle for you), and the second is the insurance cover you will need driving the car in your destination country. You normally buy this at the port of entry for the duration of your trip. 1) Need a Kuwaiti Guarantor 2 ) Refundable Deposit: 500-1000 KD depending on the car. 3) Carnet Doc cost : 35 KD It's pretty affordable but the problem is they don't assist in shipping out the car, for that we need to contact Freight forwarder agents.

My friend, bringing car to India on carnet scheme is not a big think. you can see lot of Dubai number plate cars in Kerala and I saw some in Goa also. But if it is for 20 days, I suggest it is not worth. By rule, you can keep the car for upto 6 month in India with the Dubai / foreign number plate.
In Cochin, on the airport road minimum 2 cars you can see daily, mostly hummer, Toyota FJ Cruiser, Proche etc with Dubai number plate.
But in nowadays it is not having that much attraction as most of these foreign cars are right now available in India and many of them have showrooms in Cochin.

Its not about being proud or happy for. Whats all these show offs for is that what i dont understand. he is going for a function with people bringing in high end cars , ok so? There are people who started to see money lately from Sudden growth or other means , for them they have to show off because they have nothing else in life . Most of the people that show off their wealth, are real loosers in real life. belive me God doesnt give everything to a person. If there is anyone like that let me know, maybe we need to learn that. Lets take an example of kuwait. The real kuwaiti families , the rich ones are still simple and humble ones. its the newly cracked ones that has to eat in a ferrari. Seriously who cares what you or me drive. Any object you can buy can still be bought by someone else, then whats the big deal in that. Learn from people like mark , bill gates, late steve jobs.. they never show off. now thats the real rich people. not the ones you see today things a lavish home or car means iam rich.

Just recently someone commented that the IIK forum is dull and no masala topic and lo some genius has at last made it happen to have 16 comments to a topic and has made t spicy and hot and some poor helping mentality guys trying to help this guy as if he really meant.
And reply from Raymond toooo ??
If this guy was really capable of even dreaming to even renting a leave about Lexus at least a bike he would not have come to IIK and asked this dump question.
Anyway happy replying and let the nonsense continue.
Atleast some fresh air after a long in IIK.

Dear Fellow Indians,
Thank you all for the positive/negative comments. When he posted this, his question was genuine and if he wanted to ship his vehicle to Kerala. Frankly, every day I am seeing lot of gentlemen are driving Lexus SUVs on the road, not just ladies and old men. Leave it!!!!
After reading all such comments, as an Indian I was thinking, how many fellow Indians are there who are frustrated, hopeless, nothing else to do etc. following IIK to throw their rubbish. Whats wrong in owning a luxurious SUV in Kuwait if he can afford to! more over whats wrong if he takes it to his place solely at his cost? He just asked about it to gather some idea if any one had done it before. Fortunately only one gentleman used the term "Nurse's Husband" unlike in any other usual query. Dear fellow Indians, grow up, be matured enough, we all are in some sort of contingencies. If some one asks something, if you have nothing to reply, better not to show off your level of frustration, intolerance and disappointment here.
Anyways, thanks to this guy for making the forum active and he must be laughing sitting somewhere in his comfort.
Good Luck you guys,
Chamman Oondy

Hi All,
Thanks to one and all for your valuable time to write your comments. To those who wrote negative comments, please don't be too pessimist like some one see only the hole in a doughnut.
Anyways, thanks a lot.

Mathews
