Diwali, a festival celebrated in almost all parts of India. It is an Indian festival that marks the victory of good over evil. This festival is celebrated by lighting lamps all around the house and office. It symbolizes light as the victory over darkness. It is one of the biggest and grandest festivals celebrated mainly in India.
Diwali, also known as Deepavali, which means an array of lamps. People decorate their homes and offices with various lights, dress in new clothes, cook delicious foods, exchange gifts and share happiness.
As well people love to burst all types of crackers. Shopkeepers sell much type of crackers, which would look colorful. Though everyone loves to play crackers, they forget that bursting crackers lead to noise and air pollution. It can be very dangerous for kids and can even cause fatal burns. Bursting crackers reduces air quality and visibility in many places, responsible for accidents that are often reported after the festival.
Safety measures are must while bursting crackers. Let’s see a few of them:
1.Avoid synthetic clothes while bursting crackers and lighting diyas. Wear cotton instead.
2.Use cotton ear plugs to avoid damage to ears.
3.Do not try to examine a cracker that has not burnt.
4.Avoid doing stunts by holding crackers and lighting them in your hands as it can cause an injury.
5.In case of minor burn use ice cubes on that particular area.
6.Burst crackers in an open space and make sure that there is no fuel or inflammatory substances around you.
7.While bursting crackers maintain a space, tie your hair properly, especially if you have long hair.
8.Keep children away from crackers.
9.People who have health related issues, like respiratory related issues, must stay inside.
10.Keep your pets inside the house.
11.Do not burst crackers near electric poles and wires.
12.People are advised not to burst crackers inside any vehicle.
13.Maintain safe distance from the crackers and pour water to diffuse it if it takes longer time to burst.
14.Please avoid bursting crackers near stray animals, on road or near hospitals.
