A date with the LIVEJAM BAND -BREAK FREE TOUR 2014.

They had visited our school on 5-11-2014 and gave a marvelous performance. It was a very different kind of a workshop. In the beginning we were asked to sing and dance with their fantastic band which rocked our school auditorium. The team was led by Bonny Andrews, who is also the front man of ‘Bonny Andrews and The LiveJam Band’.

Andrews and the band are passionate about seeing lives changing for the better, through the creative potential of music and media.

The theme of their free tour 2014 is - FREEDOM AND IDENTITY.

The message of freedom and identity meant to help teenagers struggling with multiple issues and help them come out of it and create a new identity for themselves.

Their theme is based on the premise of a young person breaking free from anything that prevents him/her from living a fulfilling life. It is a shift from bondage to freedom. Keeping with the current socio-cultural scenario among teenagers.

LiveJam met students at their point of need (teenage/adolescent years) in a favourable environment (their school setting) and through creative platforms (of music and media) they easily identified and rectified problems. The aim of this band was and is to see a transformation of urban youth through music and media in India and around the world.

LiveJam is a movement that began in 2005 in Kerala, India. Since 2007 LiveJam has identified and focused upon the following top 6 issues prevalent among teenagers in India.

1. Substance abuse

2. Peer pressure

3. Identity crisis

4. Broken homes

5. Relationships

6. Bullying

Mr. Bonny Andrews narrated his story that his life was like a car horribly out of control but he didn't wait for it to crash. Instead of bringing shame to his parents and ending up as a hopeless drug addict, at the age of 18, he decided it was time to take an U-turn.

That's how Live Jam, with the tag line of 'Live Out Loud', was born in the heart of Bonny Andrews. He became a NGO and focused on creating educational awareness and social awareness among the youth through music, skits, songs etc.

What the LiveJam band does?

They believe “Age groups 4 to 14 are the formative years when you can mould a child’s thinking. They give a lot of importance to music because they feel that's one thing youngsters can connect to and are able to retain long after the session is over.

They have a great vision and are focused.

We enjoyed the session and the best part of this band is that the band members are young and energetic and hence could easily relate to teenagers and their problems.

We thank our Principal and management for this innovative session otherwise we would have never ever known about these wonderful people with a very different vision and approach.
