Republic Day Celebrations In Our Present Time!!!

Manar Asad Khan Wednesday, January 25, 2012

26 January 1950 is one of the most important days in Indian history as it was on this day that the constitution of India came into force and India became a truly sovereign state. In this day India became a totally republican unit. Our country finally realized the dream of Mahatma Gandhi and other freedom fighters too who, fought for and sacrificed their lives for the Independence of our country. So, 26th January was decreed a national holiday and has been recognized and celebrated as ‘Republic Day’ ever since history.

Today, Republic Day is celebrated with much enthusiasm all over the country especially in the capital, New Delhi, where the celebrations start with the presidential to the nation. The beginning of the occasion is always a solemn reminder of the sacrifice of martyrs who died for the country in the freedom movement and succeeding wars for defense of sovereignty in our country. Then, the president comes forward and awards the medals of bravery to the people of the armed forces for their exceptional courage in the field and also the civilians, who have distinguished themselves by their different acts of valour in different situations.

To mark the importance of this occasion, every year a grand parade is held in the capital, from the Rajghat along the Vijaypath. The different regiments of the army, the Navy and the Air Force march past in all their finery and official decorations. Even the horses in the cavalry are attractively caparisoned to suit the occasion. The crème of N.C.C cadets, selected from all over the country consider it an honor to participate in this event, as the children of various schools in India, especially in the capital participate and be a part of this event.

They spend many days preparing for the event and their support and hard work is strongly shown in the event which is very well organized. Then, the parade is followed by a pageant of spectacular displays representing the different and colorful states of India. These moving exhibits depict scenes of activities of people in those states and music and songs of each state accompanies the particular display. Each display brings out the diversity and richness of the culture of India and the whole show lends a festive air to the occasion. Really, this segment of event is worth enjoyable and fascinating. The parade along with the pageantry is watched on 26th January every year and is telecasted on every news channel and thus this media coverage helps this to reach to viewers at every corner of the country, city or state.

At the end to conclude the event, a patriotic fervor of the people in this day brings the whole country together even in her essential diversity. The major specialty of this event is that every segment included represents each end every part of the country in the occasion, therefore making “Republic Day’’ the most popular and most awaiting festive in as compared to the other national holidays observed.

Now, in the end I would like to conclude this article by giving all the viewers these selfprovoking and beautiful words which embedded in the heart of each Indian and that is:

Freedom in mind

Faith in words,

Pride in our heart,

Memories in our souls,

So let’s salute the nation

On eve of REPUBLIC DAY!!!!!

And remember that;

One Vision, One Identity, One Nation

‘’ No nation is perfect, it should be made perfect’’

MERI PEHCHAAN MERA INDIA

Now I would like to wish you all a VERY HAPPY 61TH REPUBLIC DAY. Let us all salute our soldiers and great leaders who fought for the independence and republic of our country India and will never forget them as due to their deeds, today India is a free, progressed, well-developed and a tourist attracted country. Really our India is great.

INDIA IS OUR MOTHERLAND AND WE SHOULD RESPECT IT MORE THAN ANYTHING ON THE EARTH. VANDE MATARAM……
