Seawings Seaplane – Once in a lifetime aerial experience- Dubai.

Dubai is a land of spectacular wonders, a city of superlatives, where everything is built to excite.

The Seawings seaplane offers a panoramic view of the iconic landmarks of this fascinating country.

It gently takes off from the pristine waters of Dubai and slowly ascends into the sky. It helps us to view every minute architectural details of the topmost points of the world’s tallest building - the Burj Khalifa, a spectacle that is positively invisible from the ground. It helps us to witness the marvellous design of the man-made Palm Jumeirah Island - a visual extravaganza that can be seen only from the sky.

We chose a 40-minute seaplane flight ride from The Jebel Ali Golf Resort to The Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht on 20th of JUNE 2014 to enjoy the incredible aerial views of the city’s finest attractions. The cost per person was 795 AED.

We enjoyed a thrilling water take-off and then soar around the city’s gravity-defying skyscrapers such as Burj Khalifa—one of the world’s tallest buildings. The view of the archipelagos of Palm Jumeirah was a treat to the eyes which cannot be expressed in words. We also had a very clear view of the Dubai Marina and the busy ports of Jebel Ali and Port Rashid.

All seats in the seaplane have a beautiful view but the seat next to the pilot requires a premium charge of AED 100. Our tour started off with a warm reception at Jebel Ali Golf course and was given a cold drink and snack. We then took off .The capacity of the plane is 9 seats with 1seat for the pilot i.e. 10 seats including the pilot. The Take Off and Landing was so smooth! The pilot was so professional and at the beginning told us about our trip. The place where the scenic flight leaves from is really nice. There is a golf course and it is by the lake. We reached the meeting point 30 minutes before the start time. This was mandatory to allow time for pre-departure briefing. You also have to carry your passport for identification. That is also mandatory.

We flew in a Cessna 208 Caravan Amphibian aircraft and had the thrilling experience of taking off and landing on the water. The aircraft had individual leather seats each with generous leg room and a window view, all within a quiet, air-conditioned cabin.

Our tour was a 40 minute “dock to dock” excursion providing views of Dubai’s most iconic landmarks including Burj Al Arab, Burj Khalifa, The World Islands, The Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Creek, Port Rashid and more.

1. Burj Al Arab: A seven-star hotel on an artificial island, connected to the mainland by a private curving bridge. The iconic structure, is designed to symbolize Dubai's urban transformation and to mimic the sail of a boat.

2. The Burj Khalifa: The tallest man-made structure ever built.

3. The World Island: A man-made archipelago of 300 islands in the shape of a world map and located 4 km (2.4 miles) off the coast of Dubai.

4. Palm Jumeirah: The smallest of the three Palm Islands. Like Jebel Ali Palm but smaller. It also has a trunk, a crown with 17 fronds, and a surrounding breakwater.

5. Dubai Creek: This natural seawater inlet running through the centre of the city is the oldest part of Dubai and the site of the original trading port.

6. Port Rashid: An important man-made commercial port in Dubai. Future plans state that it will become mainly a cruise terminal and that its cargo operations will move to Jebel Ali Port.

At the end of our fabulous seaplane flight we landed on the water.

It Was A Lifetime Experience.

I also got a certificate from the seawing authorities duly signed by the captain of the flight for travelling in the seaplane.

If you would like to have the same thrill and joy as I had, go ahead and book your tickets for a lifetime experience with Seawings-seaplane.
