Daman and Diu offers you a refreshing holiday. Daman and Diu is a destination for everyone and for all seasons. You will feel a subtle old world charm that is further reminded by the impressive forts and cathedrals that were built during the colonial era. Daman and Diu  is a beautiful, stunning, striking, gorgeous paradise on earth.  The sandy beaches and rocky coves are the major geographical traits of Daman & Diu that add beauty and grandeur to this quaint land. Besides, there are many tourist attractions in Daman & Diu that are worth catching a glimpse.

Daman and Diu is the second smallest union territory in India. They are two different parts, enclosed between sea on one side and Gujarat on the other. Daman is situated near Surat: and Diu is located near Junagadh.

Ganga river divides the Daman town in half. The southern part of the city is known as Moti(Big) Daman and the northern part known as Nani(Little)Daman.

Moti Daman is an old Portuguese area where the government buildings and old churches are located. A large wall surrounds it. And Nani Daman consists of most of the hotels of the city. The roads in Daman Diu are well maintained. Daman lies about 15kms off Vapi along the Mumbai Ahmedabad highway.

Tourist Centres

Important tourist places in Daman are as under:

Bom Jesus Church- The church was built by the Portuguese in 17th century and is famous for their impressive rosewood carvings.,

Our Lady of Sea Church; Our Lady of Remedios Church;

Forts of Moti Daman  - The huge fort dates back to 16th century. A large number of Portuguese gentry used to reside within the confine of the Fort with their families.

Nani Daman- It has an ancient church, a fort and a fishing dock.

Jampore and Devka Beaches - These beaches is an ideal place to and listen to the whisper of the palm trees and laze around; The lighthouse offers that mystic charm to its lovely beaches.

Public Garden and Moti Daman Jetty, Pargola Garden

 Moti Daman Amusement Park -  Devka - It has an amusement park with a number of colourful fountains and is a place to frolic around;

Damanganga Tourist Complex, Kachigam;- An artificially built complex self-contained with Cafeteria, Cottages, Conference Hall, Health Club etc is sure to enchant you with its beauty, facilities and size.

Important tourist places in Diu:

St. Paul's Church;

Diu Fort - Skirted by the sea on the three sides, the imposing structure dominates the townscape and offers a magnificent view of the sea

Panikota Fort; Nagoa - This semi-circular beach is in Bucharwada village. You can swim or engage in various water sports and Chakratirth and Children's park at Ghoghla and Summer House are famous places of tourist interest.

Hilsa Aquarium: The recently developed Hilsa Aquarium displays a good collection of exotic and colouful fish.

There are also several temples and mosques such as the Gangeshwar Temple and the Jama masjid. The Nagoa beach, Gomptimata, Chakratirth and the stunning Sunset Point are the other prominent beaches that are also the major lures for the discerning tourists.
