The Teachers' Day is observed on 5th September every year to pay honour to Dr. Radhakrishnan as well as to the teachers' community. In educational institutions all over India, this day is observed with seriousness. Students go to the houses of their teachers, offer them garlands and flower bouquets and in return seek their blessings. The teachers also do not hesitate to shower their blessings on their students. This is how; a healthy relationship is maintained between students and teachers in educational institutions. A teacher is a person who nurtures a child into a respectable citizen of the country. A teacher is a person who stays with the child all throughout their schooling age and guides them in the right direction. All that I have achieved in my life is because of my teachers. Some of them were formally designated as my teachers and the others who have guided me are my parents and elders.

Who is an Ideal Teacher?

An ideal teacher is one who believes in you, who tugs and pushes and leads you to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called truth. A teacher is one who affects eternity, he or she can never tell where his or her influence stops. The average teacher explains complexity, the gifted teacher reveals simplicity. Ideal teachers are those who use themselves as bridges over which they invite their students to cross, then having facilitated their crossing, joyfully collapse, encouraging them to create bridges of their own. I believe that a teacher is the most responsible and important member of society because his or her professional efforts affects the fate of the earth.

I would like to mention about one of my teacher who has touched my heart and will always remain precious to my heart.

The teacher about whom I want to mention is my computer teacher in India whom I met during my vacation when I had joined there for computer classes. Before I went there I was least interested in computers but after I met this teacher and as she started teaching me I got motivated and slowly started liking computers as she made it interesting as well as easy by her sweet and cool attitude. Whenever I had a problem and found something difficult, she always helped me and made it easy for me. Now computer is the easiest subject for me and I have learnt so many softwares and because of her I have won so many prizes in the field of computers. I won gold medals in the IAS - (MacMillan) competitive exams, was able to win the animation contest in Shaastrautsav twice and win many more prizes in my school activities. I will always be thankful to her all my life. Now my friends call me a computer wizard. Due to her influence in my life I might also take up an IT profession in future.

This is my first teacher, my mother who is also a teacher by profession and I would also like to wish her a Happy Teacher’s Day.
