The IMWA-EDUMEET 2013 was conducted at Salmiya Indian Model School on 24-5-2013.The program comprised of an extempore inter-school debate competition between 9 Indian schools in Kuwait and students from class X-XII participated in it. There was also an inter-school essay competition for classes VII-XII.
The topics given to the various schools were as follows
1. Are there more demerits than merits of co-education?
2. Do parents have a right in deciding a child’s future?
3. Is foreign education better than home education?
4. Are examinations a fair gauze of a student’s ability?
5. Does the current school curriculum lay down a strong foundation for the future?
6. Is today’s marketing style ethical or non-ethical?
7. Are the education standards of the Gulf schools in par with the schools in India?
8. Are there more advantages than disadvantages of social media?
9. Should celebrities be considered as role models?
The students spoke well and expressed their point of view in a very convincing manner and gave beautiful examples stating that each child is unique and hence examination cannot be considered as a gauze to measure students performance. They also added that we must be careful in choosing our role models.
The essay competition was conducted in three groups with topics like: Food eats you or you eat the food, Influence of social media on society etc.
1. Group A-Class VII –VIII.
2. Group B- Class IX- X.
3. Group C- Class XI- XII.
The results were declared immediately after the event and the prizes were distributed by the Indian Ambassador Mr. Satish Mehta. The ambassador of India highly appreciated the work of IMWA and its dedicated members.
He also encouraged the students to take part in such activities and improve their skills.
The result of the debate was as follows:

1st Runner up: Rahul Raju
2nd Runner up: Revanth Vishnuvajhala
The debate winning school was Indian Educational School

The program came to an end by taking a group photo of all the winners.
