Kozhikode District Association organized ‘Kozhikode Fest 2014’

Kozhikode District Association, Kuwait organized mega event titled ‘Kozhikode Fest 2014’ on Friday, 4th April 2014 at Indian Central School, Abbasiya to celebrate its 4th Anniversary. Thousands thronged to the open auditorium of Indian Central School to witness the mega event.

Kozhikode Fest 2014 was inaugurated by ??Mr.Shubashis Goldar, Deputy Chief of Mission, Indian Embassy, Kuwait. Association President Rajagopalan.E presided over the inaugural meeting held in connection with the event. Abdulla Kollarath, Vice President of the Association and the Programme Convenor gave the introductory speech. General Secretary Abdul Najeeb.T.K, Patron Shabeer Mandoly and Mahilavedi Secretary Vanisree Santhosh also spoke on the occasion. The souvenir published in connection with Kozhikode Fest 2014 was released by handing over a copy to Mr. John Simon, Marketing Manager of Al Mulla Exchange Company by Ashraf Aydeed, Patron. Neena Rajagopal, Souvenir Convenor and Ramdas Chilamban, Sponsorship Convenor also participated in the souvenir release function. Sponsors of the event were honoured on the occasion and mementos were presented to them. General Convenor Haneef.C welcomed the gathering and Najeeb.P.V, Treasurer expressed vote of thanks. Nowr Nasim compered the programme.

The open air location and the bright lights of the stage set the perfect mood for a magical musical program. Versatile artist Nadir Shah, well known as film actor, play back singer, music composer and comedian led the musical night with his rich singing voice. Anwar Sadath (playback singer), ThajuddeenVatakara (‘mappilapattu’ singer) and Keerthana (singer-Surya TV reality show fame) sang their famous numbers to the cheers of their excited fans. Mubarak Al Rashed, famous Kuwaiti singer graced the stage to sing some upbeat songs in Hindi and one song in Malayalam.

Mimicry artist Pratinjan who is famous for sound magic displayed his skills that evoked excitement from everyone present. Sounds of mosquito beeps, motor car race, rain and a lot more spiced with real flute accompanied by drum sound by the mouth were wonder to many ears on the eventful day. The Kozhikode Fest 2014 ended with a coupon draw and wonderful prizes were handed out to the winners.

Distinguished personalities from different walks of life attended and enjoyed the evening. Those who witnessed the event will cherish the memories for a long time to come.
