IMA Hosted Interfaith Iftar Get-Togher

Indian Muslim Association (IMA-Kuwait) Fahaheel and Abu-Halifa Units organized an interfaith Iftar Party at Sheikh Bader Ahmed Sabah hall Abu Halifa.

H.E. Mr. Sunil Jain, Indian Ambassador to Kuwait was the chief guest of the evening. He spoke on the importance of tolerance and co-existence in a plural society and also applauded the efforts of IMA in bringing closer different communities.

Sharafuddin B. S. main speaker of the event talked about ‘ Role of religion in a plural society’ said that Islam not only endorses and accepts plural society but also ensures rights and peaceful coexistence of various cultural groups through various regulations. He quoted many verses of Quran and traditions of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to highlight the importance peaceful coexistence in a plural society. He emphasised the instances of Islamic history where Muslims maintained excellent relationship with Non-Muslims as a part of their religious obligation

Mr. Kurshid Alam Senior Engineer in KOC talked on the topic “Message of Ramadhan”. He said apart from the spiritual and medical benefits of Ramadhan, this month should encourage people to think more about their creator and the purpose of one’s creation.

Mr. Adam Holland, Director- KEO International Consultants, Mr. Balram Naidu- Planning Manager- Essa Husain Al-Yousifi, Mr. Venkata Siva Rao, Vice President -Telugu Kala Samithi, Engineer Abdul Lateef Al Munafi, and Mr. Dinesh Chamoli, President -Uttarakhand Cultural Association Kuwait who were the guests of honor also addressed the audiences and appreciated the efforts of IMA in bringing together people from different faith. Large number of people from various faiths and representatives of various associations attended the gathering. The Program was convened by Mr. Muzaffar Deshmukh. General Secretary of IMA Ahmed Ali extended vote of thanks. The Program started with the recitation of the verses from the holy Quran by Master Abdullah and concluded with a buffet dinner.
