Parliament member from Kerala and Communist Party of India’s (Marxist) Kerala state committee member P K Biju MP said that India government should increase the frequency of Air India flights during peak seasons to help the expats in their vacation travel to India. He was addressing the media people here in Kuwait. Biju MP came to Kuwait as the chief guest of the valedictory session of the Malayalam language program organized by Kerala Art Lovers Association (KALA) Kuwait last Friday at Indian Central School auditorium, Abbassiya.

"Fluctuations in Air fares are a global phenomenon, but by increasing the number of airlines and frequencies during peak seasons may be an option airlines can consider", he said. Our government usually doesn’t make any projects for NRIs except the yearly Pravasi Samman Award, he said.

Indian government should make a new law to safeguard the interests of domestic laborers working within the country and overseas, MP said. Government should take more strict measures to prevent recruiting agents from indulging in fraudulent recruitments after pocketing hefty commissions, he said. Government should bring rules to allow overseas recruitment only through government agencies, he said.

KALA Kuwait president Saji Janardhanan and secretary T V Jayan were also present during the press conference.
