LuLu Exchange donates Rs 10 Lakh for flood relief in Jammu & Kashmir

LuLu Exchange Company WLL, the leading remittance company in the State of Kuwait, on Monday, came in support of the people affected by the devastating flood in Jammu and Kashmir and extended a monetary aid of Rs. 10 Lakh towards relief and recovery efforts in flood-ravaged Indian state.

A cheque of Rs. 10 Lakh was formally handed over to His Excellency Sunil Jain, the Indian Ambassador to Kuwait which would be forwarded to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF). The contribution is aimed at providing relief and rehabilitation for affected people and reconstruction of areas devastated by the floods and landslides that hit the Jammu & Kashmir in September.

Mr. Adeeb Ahamed, CEO of LuLu Financial Group, commenting on the severity of the devastation, said: "We express our condolences and deepest sympathy to all the affected people who lost their near and dear ones, their homes and their livelihoods in this massive calamity. In this need of the hour, I hope that this little contribution will help in restoration of the devastated infrastructure and help rebuild lives of the people affected in the national tragedy.

The staff of the remittance and foreign exchange major have been organizing fund raising activities and received generous voluntary donations to help support the ongoing relief efforts in Jammu and Kashmir.

LuLu Exchange Company has often been able to respond swiftly to disasters anywhere in Asia, providing physical and mental relief as well as material aid. The company had earlier initiated similar CSR and charity drives to rehabilitate the victims of 2013 North Indian floods, Philippines floods of 2012 and Philippines typhoon "Yolanda" (Haiyan) in 2013 amongst many other natural calamities.
