Spin a Yarn contest and IIK Young reporter Award nite truly amazed the Audience

The eagerly awaited night on 20th Thursday, where children stormed the stage in Indian Community School Kuwait -ICSK, Khaitan, with their fantasies and excelled in speech delivery and also recognised for their journalism, at last started off with Ruth as MC welcoming the gathering and setting a tempo for the event by inviting the Contest Chair Febin in a unique style that made the audience anticipate a colorful and fun night and which it was.

Febin in his charismatic style regaled the audience with his on the spot jokes and made the audience do a simple exercise culminating into joining hands together for applause.

The event started off with Spin A Yarn contest for Junior student's category in which eight schools participated. The audience were laughing away as the children reeled out their fantasies. The juniors had lot of humor up their sleeves and it was as if they just required a tap on their shoulder to unleash their potential.

Then the seniors came on the stage and reeled off their fantasies too with audience reeling into uncontrolable laughter session. The a paid sometimes did not die down for a full minute or so.

The second segment of the evening was IIK Young Reporter's awards night. IIK Young Reporter program 2013-14 was sponsored by Tik Tok, American Tourister, Prosports and Al Rashed Shipping Company.

It started off with Ramya Teja ' s excellent article on Bird's life and it's meaning to our lives. She covered exceedingly well how she learnt her life lessons like punctuality, loving her siblings and friends, why patents are sometimes strict with children by simply observing the birds rear their young ones over a period of few weeks. The audience e were stunned at the little girl's immense insight into life at her young age.

Then came the awards night for the young Reporter's who contributed their might to the YR program by sending in quality articles out of which some of the articles were selected for their relevance to the student community and for their originality. The award eyes were

Ramya Teja recieved The Best Ever Article award
D R Pratyusha recieved The Most Relevant Article for Students award
Vijay Anant recieved An Article of Variety award
Ashwin Kumar received Most Original Article award
Bibin Thomas recieved the Most relevant article to Modern times award

The awards were sponsored by American Tourister and the award contained certificates and American Tourister bags.

The student DR Pratyusha who single handedly collected 1001KD and contributed towards PM relief fund was specially felicitated in the function by IndiansinKuwait.com.

She was also awarded the Best IIK Young Reporter of the year 2013- 14 which was sponsored by Tik Tok. She recieved a Tissot watch, Trophy and a certificate from IIK.

The highest contributor to IIK Young Reporter program was given to Vijay Ananth who contributed 60 articles to Y R program. He was felicitated in the function by IndiansinKuwait.com.

The best school contributor award was given to Indian Education School- Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. Mr Prem Kumar, Principal was called on stage to receive the trophy.

Then the most awaited moment came when the winners for the Spin A Yarn contest 2014 were announced.

The winners in the junior category were 1st Prize won by Prathik Pratheesh of Indian Eduction School - Bhavans, 2nd Prize byVishali Srikanth of Gulf Indian School and 3rd prize byYash Dhananjay of ICSK - Senior branch
The winners in Senior category were 1st Prize won by Karan Sanal of Indian Learners own academy, 2nd Prize by Sam Ebey Samuel of Indian Eduction School - Bhavans and 3rd prize by Samira Abraham of FAIPS - DPS

First Prize winners received Belman Watch from Tik Tok, Trophies and certificates
Second Prize and Third Prize recieved High Sierra Bags , Trophies and certificates.
