KAC receives first Airbus A-320 plane

Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC) received on Thursday the first Airbus A-320 plane as part of a deal to upgrade its fleet. The delivery ceremony was held at the Airbus headquarters in Toulouse, France, the national carrier announced in the statement. This is the first of a 37-plane deal by KAC, and marks the onset of an ambitious plan to modernize the fleet, head of the KAC’s Media and Public Relations Department Fayez Al-Enezi said.

It is a crucial moment for KAC as it commences modernizing its fleet, the statement quoted KAC Chairperson Rasha Al-Roumi as saying. In February, Kuwait Airways signed a final agreement to lease 12 Airbus A320 jets and buy 25 aircraft including ten A350-900s and 15 A320neo family aircraft as part of the airline’s fleet renewal
