Thirteenth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas from 7-9 January 2015

The Thirteenth Edition of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) convention will be held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat from 7-9 January 2015. The Government of Gujarat will be the State partner of this event. PBD 2015 is special as it is the centenary year of the return of Mahatma Gandhi from South Africa to India to lead India to freedom.

The Thirteenth Edition of PBD which seeks to bring the expertise and knowledge of overseas Indians on a common platform to benefit the country’s development process, will be a fitting tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.

The Convention will be formally inaugurated on 8 January 2015 by Hon’ble Prime Minister after “Pre-PBD events on 7 January 2015. The Valedictory address will be delivered on 9 January 2015 and the Pravasi Bhartiya Samman Awards will also be conferred on the same day. Many eminent PIOs/NRIs and other important guests from India and abroad are likely to take part in the convention.

In order to celebrate the occasion in a befitting manner, it has been decided to have a Painting Exhibition on Mahatma Gandhi wherein the paintings of overseas Indian artists are to be kept for the benefit of the participants during the PBD – 2015. All Indian associations/Indian artists are encouraged to participate in the Painting Exhibition. The guideline and other details are available on the PBD – 2015 website www.pbd-india.com.
