NAFO conducted Kudumbasangamam

NAFO Kuwait, on Friday, 20th February conducted Kudumbasangamam-2015 (Family Fest) at the Indian Community Junior School, Salmiya from 04:00 pm onwards. Considering the vulnerability of our children to possible untoward acts of mishandling by antisocial elements, and in the light of several such reported incidents in the media, a workshop on “Awareness on Child Abuse”, was arranged in connection with the event under the initiative of NAFO Ladies’ Wing. The workshop which was conducted by Mr. Diva and Mrs. Moli Diva, addressed general awareness on every day dangers facing by our children, how to identify & avoid abuse, how to seek help, how to handle incidences of abuse, and tips on self-defense. This useful workshop was attended by large number of parents and their children of all ages who were satisfactorily enlightened about the serious importance of awareness on child abuse and how possibly to resist it. It was highly benefitted by our children in building consciousness against antisocial elements in day-to-day life.

The outgoing students farewell and meritorious students award ceremony started at 7:00PM with a prayer song “Akilandamandalam” chanted by members of NAFO symphony which was choreographed by NAFO Ladies Wing Coordinators, Sreela Raviprasad and Sreeranjini Ajay. NAFO General Secretary, Murali S Nair, welcomed the gathering followed by Dr. Srikumar’s presidential address. President and General Secretary elaborated the gathering about the on-going activities of NAFO and a synopsis of up-coming events planned while requesting the support and co-operation of all member families.

NAFO outgoing students’, Ashwin Nambiar, Bharath Sureshkumar Chittayil, Reshmi Rameshkumar, Rathan Pradeepkumar and Sreelakshmi Prithwiraj honored with NAFO gold medals and appreciation certificates, by the senior members of NAFO family. After receiving honors and appreciations, all students thanked NAFO for having provided them with a strong platform to improve their extracurricular skills and personal abilities. NAFO meritorious student of Class X of year 2013-14, Sreerag Suresh Nair was also honored with NAFO medal and certificate.

While felicitating the outgoing students, Vijay Karayil (NAFO Patron), Dr. Prasad Nair (NAFO Advisory Board), BS Pillai (former NAFO president), KC Gopakumar (NAFO Vice President) O.N. Sureshkumar (Secretary) and Smitha Sashikumar (Chief Co-ordinator-Ladies’ Wing) reminded them about their future challenges, duties and responsibilities, and wished all of them a bright and prosperous future, which the students received with due regards.

The brochure “REMINISCENCE”, a proprietary award of NAFO-Kuwait, envisioned for the most innovative, passionate and vibrant students of Indian Schools in Kuwait, aimed to propagate the greatness of Padmabhushan Mannathu Padmanabhan beyond the borders of region or religion, as he is the one iconic architect of the modern fraternal, dynamic and heroic civil society of our mother land and specifically the state of Kerala, was officially released by T.A. Remesh, KNS Das and Rajasekhar, all belonging to NAFO family.

An audio-visual presentation on the next NAFO mega event “ANTARAM” was also showcased and briefed by the program convener Vijayakrishnan.

Program committee convener, V.R. Vijayan Nair, congratulated the students and thanked the guests, Management of ICSK and NAFO family members for their support and esteemed presence. The function concluded at 9:00PM with a delicious dinner. Premraj Nambiar, ON Sureshkumar, Krishnakumar, Vijayakrishnan, Madhu G. Menon, NAFO Ladies’ Wing co-ordinators and NAFO Executive Committee members played key roles for the professional planning and execution of NAFO Kudumbasangamam-2015, a grand success and ever memorable.
