NAFO Kuwait is all set to stage its mega cultural show “ANTARAM”, a dynamic collection of classical dance and theatre that celebrates arts and crafts of India, on the wonderful occasion of its 12th Anniversary, scheduled for the evening of Saturday, May 16, 2015, at the American International School, Maidan-Hawalli.

Conceived by Gopika Varma, a recognized Bharatanatyam exponent scripted and produced by Krithika Subrahmanian of Namaargam Dance Company and South Indian talent Film Actress Suhasini Maniratnam, along with Kuchupudi prodigy Yamini Reddy, “Antaram” is an ensemble of classical dance, music, theatre and technology. It is a vibrant depiction of Indian mythological characters Kannagi, Vasavi, Andal and Attukal Bhagavathy.

The name”Antaram” derives from the lives of their characters, who attained divinity within themselves, as Krithika enacts the role of Andal, Yamini as Vasavi, Gopika as Kannaki and Suhasini as Rhamba. In exploring the character’s story, it reveals the powerful divine form, while Rhamba emerges as the culmination of feminine aspirations in liberation, Vasavi is a manifestation of intellectual knowledge, Kannaki becomes an entity of dynamism and Andal becomes the envisioning power. “The sparkling performances of these best talents from South India will take the audience in to a magical world of wondrous visual beauty” according to the organizers.

“n a nutshell, Antaram will be a tribute to femininity, the magnanimity and immense potential that it holds, which will enthrall all”, organizers added.

As usual, the entry will be restricted through invitations/passes. For more details please contact at [email protected].
