Ice hockey Challenge Cup in Kuwait; India faces second defeat

IIHF Ice Hockey Challenge Cup of Asia host nation, Kuwait, thrashed India, 10-2, to earn a second consecutive win and top the tournament on Sunday. The tournament is being held at the Skating Rink near 1st ring road, Kuwait City under the patronage of PAYS Chairman, Director General Sheikh Ahmad Mansour Al-Ahmad.

"We played a really tight 1st period, giving up only 2 goals to one of the top teams in this tournament, and kept up that pace in the 2nd period, but that changed in the 3rd period ," Indian coach Adam Sherlip commented.

Kuwait was commended by its Winter Sports Club President Sheikh Nawaf Fahad Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, who believes that Kuwait can go on to win the competition. He also hailed Gulf neighbors, Oman, for their successive victories in spite of them being newcomers to the sport.
