CSC to stop hiring expats

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) officially decided to stop employing expats under the use of services category or the second contract, local daily Kuwait Times reported citing Al Qabas Arabic Newspaper. According to daily, the CSC will only renew contracts of workers in government sectors who meet the conditions especially age. The move aims at reducing the number expats.

According to report, the number of expats in government sectors is 92,000, while the number of workers in 37 areas supervised by the CSC is nearly 77,000 including 3,000 who exceeded the legal age limit and their contracts were not renewed.
