New committee to check foodstuff companies

The parliament’s health affairs committee approved forming a special committee to inspect all foodstuff companies to make sure they do not add artificial colors and flavor enhancers to their products. According to Kuwait Times daily, the committee will also set rules for imported foodstuff and mandate importers to destroy any shipment that does not match the rules and conditions. The committee would include members from the Ministry Of Commerce, Ministry of Health, Public Authority For Industry, Kuwait Municipality, Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) and the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR). div>
