Writers are Dearer than Sovereigns : MA Baby

Leading socio cultural activist and CPI (M) Politburo member M.A Baby stated that the literature has the capacity of persistence and Shakespeare is being celebrated even now more than any Monarchs of his era. He was inaugurating “Aksharam 2015”, the mega event of Kerala Art Lovers Association, KALA-Kuwait.

The improvisation languages are inevitable. All should be tolerant to other languages and broad enough to accept any words or meaningful phrases form others. That is how English language is still in its glory, he continued.

M.A Baby applauded KALA-Kuwait for its determination and efforts to propagate Malayalam blended with the culture to the younger generations, despite the unfavorable surroundings or challenges. In the inaugural function presided by KALA-President TV Hikmath, Gen Secretary Saji Thomas Mathew welcomed the Guests and audience. “Mathrubhasha Samithi Convener Sam Pynummodu narrated the roadmap of one year long “Silver Jubilee Celebrations” marking upon 25th year our Malayalam mission.

“R. Ramesh memorial diaspora Award”, constituted by KALA was presented by MA, Baby to Subair Kannur, in appreciation of his valuable charity and social work based in Bahrain. R. Naganadhan, Media Secretary of KALA introduced Subair to the audience and delivered the citation. The colorful souvenir marking upon the occasion was released by MA Baby presenting the first copy to Mr. Biji Basheer.

Sunil Kumar of KALA-Kuwait was awarded for designing the best logo for Malayalam Silver Jubilee Celebrations. The collection poem “Nilkkunnavarkkoppam” authored by KALA Member Peethan K Wayanad was released in the same function. Literary secretary Vikas Keezhatoor introduced the work to the auydience. KALA Members Bineesh Babu & Family, Ranjith & Unnikrishnan who are leaving Kuwait were bestowed with mementos in the function. The documentary prepared based on the history on Malayalam mission in Kuwait was released thereafter.

Well known author of Malayalam Sethumadhavan “Sethu”, John Mathew Chairman of Malayalam Education program, Vice Charirman Dr. Biji Basheer, Vanithavedi President Tolly Prakash, Indian Community School Board Secretary Vijayan karayil, PPF President Vinod A P Nair and Balavedi Fahaheel Area Convener Aparna Shine felicitated Aksharam 2015..

Thereafter the trophies and certificates for the winners of BEC KALA-Kuwait Balakalamela 2015 were presented to winners by BEC CEO Mathew Varghese along with distinguished guests. Aksharam 2015 Gen Convener J Saji rendered vote of thanks.

Several unique art performances cherished the audience there after. In the musical eve, the legendary performer Shahabaz Aman enthralled the audience with his fine musical combinations.

Speak Malayalam at least in Home-Sethu

Well known author of Malayalam while inaugurating the yearlong Silver Jubilee Celebrations in Kuwait urged Keralites to practice speaking the mother lounge at least in homes. He appealed the society to resist the threat to Malayalam from different angles including from T.V channels thought their improper usage. Further he reminded that by dishonoring the mother tongue we are sacrificing age old culture and slow but gradual eradication of the same from all of us.

The statistics is that by the turn of this century out of the existing 6000 language, only 10% will survive. Sethu further advised that while progressing fast along our pursuance with new languages we should not deviate from our attentiveness to Malayalam. The streams of linguistic and dedicated teachers are slowly bowing off the scene. He pointed out that all should realize Sathyajith Ray, who had in-depth knowledge of English, casted world famous films only in Bangali.

In the inaugural session of Silver Jubilee Celebrations, KALA-Kuwait president T.V Hikmath presided while Gen Secretary Saji Thomas Mathew rendered volte of thanks.
