Government studying the possibility of banning WhatsApp calls

The government is studying the possibility of banning WhatsApp calls in a preventive security measure similar to what has been adopted in other Gulf countries like Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, local daily Kuwait Times reported citing Al Rai Arabic daily.

According to report, the interior and communications ministries are working together to come up with technical and security measures that will not affect the users.

He said a specialized committee will prepare a detailed report on this issue to be presented to and decided on by the council of ministers. div>
