St. Thomas Orthodox Christian Youth Movement celebrated 10th Onam Celebration

St. Thomas Orthodox Christian Youth Movement- A spiritual organization under St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Church Ahmadi Kuwait conducted the 10th Onam Celebration -"Thiruvonapulari 2015" in a unique style.28th August 2015 witnessed a colorful event in Kuwait Al-Sahil Sports club, Abu Halifa.
The event was inaugurated by Mr. Renjith Pillai (UAE Exchange Head business development) and the Presidential speech was delivered by our church vicar Rev.Fr.Kurian John.
Thiruvonapulari General convenior Mr.Biju.S.Joy welcomed eminent personalities. Rev.Fr.Ck Thomas (St.Behanans Orthodox Church, Kodumon), Rev.Fr.Shaji p Joshua (St.Basil Indian Orthodox Church, Kuwait) and Mr. Roy Varghese (St.Thomas Indian Orthodox Church-Trustee) were made their valuable presence to mark the event more meaningful. The special Onam edition of Yuvadarshanam (Souvenir) was released. Mr.Vinod Varghese and Mr.Sherin Jacob handed it to the Vicar who released it and handed it over to the Chief Guest. The function also honored senior OCYM members (Mr.Reji Kunjukunju, Mr.Santhosh Prakkanam, and Mr. James George). Mr.Reji Kunjukunju was the winner of the Onam Title Contest 2015 –“Thiruvonapulari 2015”.
The event was beautified by Kerala's traditional art and game form such as Athapookalam malasaram (St.George Prayer group have won first prize and St.Pauls Prayer group have won second prize, Judged by Mr.Anil Atuva), Goshyathra, Chenda mellam, Pulikali, Theetimalasaram, Tug of War (Vadamvali malasaram first winner is St.Thomas Prayer group and Second winner is St.George prayer group), Violin performance, Solo song, Fusion band etc. won the hearts of audience.
Around One thousand people enjoyed with delicious onasadhya.
Renowned Kuwait Play Singer Mubarak Al Rashed, Malayalam Singers Mr.Shaiju Pallipuram,Mr.Anwar Sarang,Ms.Ambika Rajesh,Ms.Rebeka made memories with musical shows.
OCYM Joint Secretary Mr. Litton M Johnson gave the vote of thanks to all participants, sponsors and entire St. Thomas Indian orthodox Ahmadi church members.
Apart from Onam celebration, St. Thomas Orthodox church, Ahmadi is organizing charity program to help the poor and down trodden people.
