Indian Nurses Celebrated Nurses Day

The Indian nurses working in Kuwait celebrate the Nurses Day on 14th May with fervor and gaiety under Indian Nurses Federation of Kuwait, “INFOK". The Nurses Day celebration was inaugurated by Indian Ambassador Sunil Jain at Marina Mall Abassiya witnessed by a huge gathering of Indian nurses in Kuwait. INFOK President Praveen Prabhakaran presided over the function. Farwaniya Governorate representative Fahad Salem saad Al Faji, Colonel Ibrahim Al Dahi, Dr. Vivek Vani , Vice President Indian Doctors Forum, Shirly Alex Assistant Nursing Director, well-known media personality and social activist Thomas Mathew Kadavil, R Naganathan President Kala Kuwait and Lissiyama John felicitated the function. INFOK General Secretary Shyju Krishnan welcomed the gathering of nurses from various hospitals and Anish Paulose extended vote of thanks. Rededication to the nursing service Nurses’ Oath was taken by lighting the candle in remembrance of the “Lady with Lamp” Florence Nightingale. In this function the Senior Nurses who have completed 25 years of meritorious services were honored. Various cultural Programs by the family members of the INFOK, Classical and Modern Dances , Shinkarimelam and Musical Fest were the highlights of the cultural festivities arranged as part of the celebration.

Poster competition was an added attraction of this year’s celebration. Prizes were distributed to the winners of the poster competition and the badminton tournament conducted earlier in this function. INFOK is an independent socio- cultural organization registered under the Indian Embassy without any affiliation to politics, religion, caste or creed .The aim of the federation is to improve the cultural and social activities among the Indian nurses in Kuwait.
