Global warming has become a reality as the Earth and its inhabitants are facing an unprecedented situation with the rising levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The United Nations identifies June 05 as the World Environment Day and every year a theme is chosen by UNEP to observe. The theme selected for 2016 is – “Join the race to make the world a better place”.

World Environment Day-2016 was observed at IES Kindergarten, Bhavans’ Pearl Nursery and Jack and Jill Mangaf, to educate the children about Environment Day and the importance of celebrating the day. To mark the occasion, the children came dressed in green attire. A special assembly was conducted by the kindergarten in which the children enacted a beautiful skit giving importance to nature and keeping it clean so that it will benefit all the animals and human inhabitants. The entire programme focussed on the life of animals and their survival. The program concluded with the children taking a pledge to preserve the nature for the well-being of all living things. Later, the children did an activity based on the theme.

Being the last day of the term for the kindergarten, the children also had a class party where the value of sharing was inculcated by bringing snacks and sharing it among themselves.
