Kuwait Tamil Islamic Committee hosted Grand Ifthaar 2016

Kuwait Tamil Islamic Committee (K-Tic) is a non-profit Socio-Welfare Islamic Organization, established in February 2006, registered with Embassy of India, Kuwait and also registered with Ministry of Awqaf & Islamic Affairs under the Administration of Grand Mosque and Administration of Mosque Dept. of Ministry of Awqaf of Kuwait, serving the whole Tamil community, irrespective of nation, who speaks & understand Tamil language.



K-Tic has a impressive name among the socio-welfare organizations in Kuwait and Gulf countries whose benevolent works and enlightening activities and conserving Islamic uniqueness and also well known with the thousands of Indians especially all Tamil speaking people in Kuwait.



Since 2013, four years now, Kuwait Tamil Islamic Committee (K-Tic) is arranging Grand Ifthaar on all days of Ramadan at our Tamil Khutbah Masjid at Khaitan.

This year Ramadan started on June 6, 2016. From the day one, the Ifthaar was arranged with variety of items, such as Porridge of Tamilnadu - special Gruel (Nonbu Kanji), Dates, Water, Laban, Juices, Fresh Fruits like Orange, Apple, Banana, Watermelon and snacks like Vada, Samosa, Bajji and Sweets. These are delivered immediately after breaking fast.



Before Ifthaar, important announcements are made followed by Dhikr & Dua’a. After Magrib prayer Dinner arranged in “Sahan” (big round plate) where five individuals sit and eat together as a group, which is a Sunnah.

Including ladies & kids, everyday about 1,200 individuals are attending the Ifthaar and during weekends (Thursday, Friday & Saturday), it reaches till 1,500 individuals. Most of time, the Masjid was full and the people were breaking fast (Ifthaar) outside the Masjid. A huge parking area around the Masjid takes up lots of cars and even big buses.



In 2013, nearly 10,000, in 2014 nearly 20,000 and in 2015 approximately 30,000 brothers and sisters were present in the whole Ifthaar programs. It is a milestone in the history of Non-Kuwaiti Social Services Associations. The Ifthaar events organized by the K-Tic caused great joy among the Tamil peoples residing in Kuwait.

After Isha prayer “Salat Al-Taraaweeh” - Ramadan long prayers with 20 Rakah being performed, lead by our special guest (Hafil Al-Quran) from India, As-Sheikh S. Sheaikh Dawood Haamidi (Professor, Haamidiya Arabic College, Kayalpattinam) who shall complete the whole Quran during this whole Ramadan. Many quiz competitions and Dua’a reciting competitions are also held after Taraaweeh prayer.



K-Tic also proposed to arrange Qiyam Al Lail like last five years. An eminent scholar from India shall deliver excellent lecture on last ten days of Ramadan. The attendees shall be provided with Shuhoor food. Last year about 800 individuals including ladies and kids attended all the ten days and during weekends and 27th day it crossed above 1,200. We hope this year numbers will increase.

The whole program is being arranged by the Volunteers of K-Tic in the guidance of executives of K-Tic. All the individuals / families are being welcomed with honour and the seating arranged in an organised way. Separate seating arrangement is made for Ladies in all programs.



K-Tic cordially requests all brothers and sisters residing in Kuwait irrespective of religion & nationality to take part (if you are in Kuwait) in all our noble activities which we do for the sake of Allah s.w.t. for the benefit of our community. Also, please pass this information to all Tamil speaking community in Kuwait. If you are outside Kuwait, inform your friends / relatives in Kuwait to attend the same and pray for us for the benefit of life here and thereafter.



The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever gives Ifthaar to one who is fasting will have a reward like his, without that diminishing from the reward of the fasting person in the slightest”.
