Commemoration of National Mathematics Day at SIS

The National Mathematics Day was held on 22nd December, 2016 at SIS with varied mathematical activities and games. In recognition of the genius hero Srinivas Ramanujan’s contribution to mathematics, the maths department stressed on the view that mathematics is the cradle of all creations and without which the world can’t move an inch. The most outstanding event of the day was the collage competition conducted for graders 5, 6 and 7 which involved participants playing with the platform heavily based on the pardigmatic man of the day. The school leaves no stone unturned in making mathematics easier and enjoyable through its curriculum involving mathematical activities and games in order to develop clarity in students’ thinking caliber.

The day’s programme infused new life into the weekend as it was arranged in a methodical and systematic manner. The activities of the day evoked the power of reasoning, creativity, spatial thinking, problem solving ability and even effective communication skills among the smart students.
