Over 100 citations issued after new law activated on disabled parking space

Officials registered 104 violations for various offenses, including the use of parking spaces designated for people with special needs after the new law activated on January 1st.

The new law stipulates imprisonment of one month and fine not exceeding KD 100 or one of the two punishments against a person who parks a car in a place designated for people with special needs, and if the offense is repeated, the court will order the withdrawal of driver’s license for a period of one month. The law also mentions the possibility of seizing the vehicle for at least two months.

The violations recorded on January 1st includes 21 violations in Farwaniya, 15 in Ahmadi, 10 in Mubarak Al Kabeer, 20 Capital and 17 in Jahra.
