Kuwait's Fire Service introduced new equipment

Kuwait's Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) has introduced a batch of new equipment as part of new efforts to develop fire and rescue service.

The new hardware was unveiled in a ceremony Thursday sponsored and attended by Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Al-Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, along with other senior officials.

"The resistance department is an integral part of KFSD, tasked with handling various incidents," KFSD Director Khaled Al-Mekrad said, adding that firemen carry the immense burden of safeguarding citizens and expatriates alike.

Meanwhile, KFSD official Mousa Akbar noted that the new equipment represents a plan to upgrade hardware used, which would in turn, ensure increased efficiency in saving lives.

Moreover, he added that the new equipment includes water transporters, first aid equipment, ladders and other similar apparatuses.

The Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs inspected the new equipment and was given explanations over the intricacies of each device.
