Student Council Investiture at LOA

Indian Learners Own Academy embarked its 7th Investiture Ceremony on April 26, 2017 embellished with great ardour from the students as well as the school faculty. The Investiture Ceremony manifested the boost for a remarkable academic session. It was a portentous ceremony where young students constructed themselves to lay a new beginning as leaders of the school.

The juncture commenced with the arrival of the Chief Guest and other esteemed dignitaries followed by the advent of the new School Council. The distinguished Chief Guest of the day was Dr. Subramaniam Neelamani, Senior Research Scientist with Coastal Management Programme, KISR. Also present on the occasion was the Chairman of the School, Mr. D. K. Sharma.

The ceremony commenced with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and a prayer in English. The National Anthems of Kuwait & India were sung with a spirit of patriotism. The Chief Guest, Mr. Subramaniam, did the honours of the propitious lamp lighting ceremony. The School Principal Mrs. Asha Sharma extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, parents, staff and the students present at the ceremony. A beautiful and melodious patriotic song was presented before the audience by the LOA Choir, followed by a rhythmic musical performance by the school band. The wonderful dancers of LOA put forth a scintillating classical dance performance which brought pride and happiness to all minds.

The Chairman Mr. D. K. Sharma along with the Chief Guest Mr. Subramaniam inducted the newly elected members of the Student Council of the school with badges and sashes. Narayanan Seshan of Class XII was appointed as the Head Boy and Sumaiya Parveen was appointed as the School Head Girl.

An Oath was administered by the Principal as students pledged to take up new responsibilities and bear duties in accordance with the school. She also congratulated them and apprised them of the expectations of LOA.

Mr. Subramaniam addressed the gathering and shared many of his life’s experiences which made him into a better leader. He proclaimed that everyone who was not entitled to any duty had a commitment in his society. He also said that a leader is a dealer in hope and has to support any kind of person who had any set of difficulties in his/ her life.

The grand occasion came to an end with the Head Boy sharing his agendas for the academic year 2017-18 along with a heartwarming Vote of Thanks proposed by the Head Girl who expressed her gratitude to all who witnessed the ceremony. She also promised to discharge all the duties honestly with great zest and earnestness.
