Arms4u organized 1st family meet in Kabd

The 1st family meet of Arms4u was organized in Kabd, Kuwait on Friday, April 21, 2017 under the title ‘Eco-Retreat’ incorporating its three core values – Protection and Care for the Environment, Promotion of Arts & Culture and Philanthropy. Arms4u believes in practicing what it preaches thus the entire event was designed to be plastic and litter-free to the maximum possible. Upon arrival members were greeted with a healthy and sumptuous breakfast served in a zero plastic eco-friendly manner.

Secretary Shri Vattiyoorkavu Krishnakumar gave the welcome speech followed by the presidential address by Shri Alexander John. A brief presentation on arms4u by executive committee members Shri Ramesh Nair & Shri Manoj was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp which was graced by the presence of the Arms4u Kerala unit Vice-President Shri.Mohanakumaran Nair Once all the customary formalities were done away with, the audience could look forward to some fun, action and entertainment. A variety of cultural activities including skits with serious messages about environment were performed by both adults and children under the able direction of Shri. Vattiyoorkavu Krishnakumar, group song directed by none other than Shri. Prasanth, some rocking dance performance by the ED dance troupe, many energy draining rounds of Tug-Of-War for men, women and kids provided all-round education & entertainment for all.

A traditional Kerala lunch of ‘Pothichoru’ was served which matched perfectly with the theme of day and the values of arms4u.

One of the highlight of the event was a presentation on home gardening by arms4u member Shri. Girish Kumar and his wife Smt. Vinitha Girish followed by a demonstration of pot preparation especially for Kuwaiti climatic conditions.

Executive committee member Shri. Sajeev Nair led the gathering by undertaking a pledge for protection of the environment.

Attractive ‘Piggy Bank’ money deposit boxes were distributed to the children of each family to develop their sense of charity.

Another highlight event that goes well with the arms4u ethos was the free distribution of plants to each of the families that participated in the event.

Arms4u treasurer Shri. Prasanth delivered the vote of thanks to conclude the day of events with a promise for more of such wonderful activities in the future.

Thanks to programme convener Shri. Rajesh Nair whose tireless & sincere efforts produced such a memorable event and thanks to Smt. Prabhita Rajesh who compered the whole event and made it feel so smooth and well executed.
