SMCA Kuwait conducted 22nd Annual General Body

Syro Malabar Cultural Association (SMCA) Kuwait has conducted its 22nd Annual General Body on Friday, 5th May 2017 at SMCA Fahaheel area office. President Mr. Benny Perikilathu hoisted the flag to mark the start of the annual general body and presided over the public meeting. General Secretary Mr. Denny Kaanjooprambil welcomed all the members and presented the annual report. Treasurer Mr. Mons Kallukulam presented the annual financial statement and annual report for discussion and approval. Vice President Mr. Sony Mathew Thazhamadathil expressed the vote of thanks.

Upon completion of the public meeting, the 23rd Central Managing Committee took oath of the office as per the norms under the supervision of Chief Election Commissioner Mr. Shaju Paul Konnackal assisted by each area Election Commission members Mr. Thomas Vezhampasserry (Abaassiya), Mr. George Joseph Parukannil (City-Farwaniya), Mr. Salu Chirayath (Fahaheel) and Mr. Anish Thengumpilly (Salmiya).

The Working Committee elected the following as executive members of 23rd Central Managing Committee:

Treasurer - Mr. George Thomas Kalayil
Vice President - Mr. Pathrose Devassy Chenginiyadan
Joint Secretary - Mr. Rajesh George Koothrapally
Joint Treasurer - Mr. Sunil Thomas Thodukayil
Office Secretary - Mr. Antony James Mechery
Baladeepthi Chief Coordinator - Mr. Mahesh George Kelanchery
Arts & Sports Convener - Mr. Shibu Abraham Edathimattathil
Social Welfare Convener - Mr. Lijo Thomas Arackal Puthenveedu
Cultural Convener - Mr. Byju Sebastian Koodathinkal
Media Coordinator - Mr. Vipin Joseph Kottukapally

Handing / taking over process of documents, assets etc. were also completed among the former and new officials and all attendees witnessed the same.

Under the supervision of newly elected President Mr. Johnson Neelankavil, Mr. Sebastian George Purayidathil was elected as Chief Election Commissioner and Mr. Regimon Edamana elected as Central Auditor for the working year 2017-18. In his opening address, the President Mr. Johnson Neelankavil thanked everyone and requested the members support and cooperation for execution of a successful working year.
