Senate Investiture Ceremony at ICSK Senior A Fleet of Leaders Take Charge

“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away”. Investiture of the school student council is a milestone event in the activity calendar of a school and so it was at the Indian Community School (Senior) Kuwait on Wednesday 14th May 2017. At an impressive ceremony the members of the newly elected senate were formally inducted into the students’ governing body. The school senate was democratically elected through electronic voting after a colourful and long drawn campaign in the school campus.







The swearing-in ceremony was attended by numerous luminaries and invited guests. His Excellency Mr.Kandeepan Balasubramaniam, The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Kuwait was the Chief Guest of the ceremony. The Chief Guest was greeted with a guard of honour followed by a brisk march to the venue by the entire Prefecture, smartly dressed in their school uniform proudly wearing their house colours. Curtain opened to the sound of verses of recitation from the Holy Quran followed by the rendition of the National Anthems of Kuwait & Sri Lanka. In keeping up with the ICSK tradition of celebration where the school motto “ From Darkness to Light “ is truly visible, the traditional lamp was lit by the Chief Guest, Heads of the Departments and Academic Supervisors present on the occasion. Vice-Principal of ICSK Senior Dr. Sam T. Kuruvilla welcomed the guests to the ceremony. In his address, he reminded the student leaders to consider this badge not as a symbol of power but of service. The Chief Guest, His Excellency in his inaugural address elaborated on the cordial relationship between India and Sri Lanka over the years. He enumerated upon the important aspects of leadership and responsibility. He advised the newly invested senate to utilize this opportunity as a good learning experience integrating the qualities of good leadership and elaborated on the important requirements to be successful leaders .It was deftly pointed out that rock solid integrity, hard work, team spirit, emotional & moral stability, good listening skills, interpersonal relations are essential ingredients that go into the making of a perfect leader. The joy of winning the post and the honour of receiving the badge notwithstanding, he advised the students to spare a thought about the less privileged children in the society. The Principal, Dr. V. Binumon administered the oath and the Chief Guest invested badges to the Members of the Senate.







The newly invested Senate President Master Aneez Mohammed delivered the Vote of thanks to the invited guests, school faculty and the students. He promised to attempt the best to uphold the name and fame of the great institution in the days to come. Well enamored with the shining titles and proud responsibilities the newly invested senate marched out into the bright world confident to administer their duties well and diligently.
