Perampally Welfare Association celebrated “Monthi Fest” 2017

Perampally Welfare Association – Kuwait (PWA) the Nativity of our Blessed Virgin Mary “Monthi Fest” at Indian Public School Auditorium, Salmiya on Friday, September 29, under the leadership of President Arun D’Souza.

More than 160 devotees had gathered to celebrate the “Monthi Fest”. Prayer to worship our Blessed Mother Mary was led by Edna Dsouza. Group of children offered flowers, Youngsters and Adults offered Candles, Novem, various kinds of vegetables & Sugarcane, while all who were gathered sang hymns ‘Sakkad SangathaMellyan’ and ‘Moriyek Hogolsian’ in honour of Mother Mary.

The program was compered by Melwyn Mascarenhas who took charge of the entire proceedings with grace.

The guest for the event was Norbert D’Souza (Vice President of Abbasiya Parish Council). The guests were felicitatedwith flower bouquets.A warm welcome was addressed to the gathering by Arun Dsouza. A brief annual report was presented by Secretary Edna Dsouza and message from Fr. Romeo Lewis was read by Roshan Dsouza.

The cultural program proceeded with great enthusiasm and entertainment shown by various performers.

The entertainment was filled with music, dance and singing. Dance show performed by Roslyn, Royce, Larissa, Ronalda, Sanya, Realene & Nishmita. Goan folk dance choreographed by Nelson Dsilva was performed by PWA team lead by Nelson, Reshma, Ronald, Nirmala, Fredrick and Josyln. Fusion Dance Group, Kuwait entertained with their South Indian Dance style.

Solo singing by the famous singer and winner of Gulf Voice of Mangalore - 2014, Morvin Quadros was a special attraction of the event. Konkani comedy skitwas presented by famous Konkani artists, Lionel Rayan Ajekar and Rajesh Fernandes and supported by member Helen Dsouza.

Various spot prizes were conducted by Melwyn Mascarenhas. SumitD’souza & Arun D’souza thanked the people for their contribution and continuous support towards the cause and felicitated all the contributors.Yet another special attraction of the event was the Kombo draw (Live cock). Many members sponsored for this event by means of Vegetables, flowers and sugarcane etc., auctioned for raising funds for the new church building. Raffle ticket draw conducted and prizes were distributed by Lionel Ajekar and Rajesh Fernandes along with PWA members.

Urban Dsouza offered prayer before meals. Traditional food (Novem Jevaan) was served during the occasion by M & M confectionery. Delicious fish preparation was also served which was prepared by Rocky Dsouza & family. The beautiful stage and Mother Mary Grotto set and decorated lead by Sunil Dsouza and Ajith D’souza. The programme concluded with grand baila by DJ Bosco D’souza.The whole event was captured by photographer Prem Crasto.
